Check your local shelter website and in person daily. Ask to see dogs in isolation & deceased dog list. Also check their reports for pets that have been found but are staying with the finder. File lost report with shelters. Post on Pawboost, Nextdoor. Post on local lost & found pet facebook pages, community & shelter pages, Craigslist, NextDoor, in newspapers. Check with neighbors on Ring. If your dog is chipped call the company and report them missing. Make sure that they have your current contact information registered to the chip. Put dirty laundry outside of your home in various direction & bowl of water (no food) in your front yard. Dogs can pick up the scents & find their way home. If safe, leave a small opening to allow her to get back in if she returns. Go door to door with flyers, ask neighbors to check garages, sheds, yards, any small areas she may be hiding or trapped. In addition to posting flyers, make flyers to leave at every neighbors house for several streets in all directions - ask them to check any area where your dog could be trapped or hiding - garages, sheds, etc. Make a large yard sign for your front yard with her picture and MISSING written on it so neighbors walking by will see it and keep an eye out. Beware of Instagram “Trackers“ who offer search dogs. Beware of scammers that state they have your dog and ask for your email for confirmation codes. Require that they send you pictures of your dog that are not the same pictures you posted. Check homeless encampments. Post a neon poster at the intersection near where the dog went missing or was last seen.
