Message from Owner

My neighbor’s cat, Tigger, is missing. He’s such a sweetheart. He’s a longer haired cat but is often shaved (like a lion!) so it may be shorter now. He’s been missing since Wednesday. If you’ve seen him or picked him up, please let me know! He’s greatly missed.

Lauren Nicole Bander, please make sure to copy & paste this info for your neighbor: Make sure to check inside everything that has been opened for a short time and then closed... your garage, your shed, totes, coolers, vehicles, etc. Then ask ALL your neighbors to check their garages, sheds, RV’s, etc. to make sure Tigger isn't trapped somewhere. (THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES WITH OUTSIDE CATS.) Give all your neighbors a flyer with a picture or description of Tigger with your phone number in case they spot him. Post on www. Nextdoor. com and make sure to visit all your local shelters and animal control.

Karen Elizabeth thanks Karen! he’s actually used to being outside. He’s not normal in the sense that he’s comfortable being outside, not scared, and very friendly. He generally just stays in the front or back yard, or very near by (so we’re hoping he’s just off on an adventure and back soon🤦🏻‍♀️). But my neighbors were extra worried so I wanted to post to get as much reach as possible since he’s never gone this long. Now if it were my cats that got outside, it would be exactly as you described. They are the definition of “scaredy cats” But Tigger’s the sweetest so I’m hoping I can help find him soon. Thank you though for all the tips 💕

If he is normally an INSIDE cat… then he is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for his “glowing” eyes. He is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HIM IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HIS EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. He is so scared, he will NOT respond to you calling him, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find him. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!
