Attaching Information to help you find your cat. These are tips to help find a lost cat. Start the calling method as soon as you realize your cat is missing. Call from where your cat went missing. Call it’s name repeatedly for 10 mins. Repeat that every 30 mins while shaking treats and listening to hear if it responds by calling back. Keep your voice calm and encouraging. Consistency is key. This enables the cat to pick up the direction of your voice and and eventually your home. Your cat will likely be very scared, cold and hungry and very close by. Use a flashlight when searching at night when it is quieter as their eyes reflect the light when they are hidden in shrubs etc. For indoor and indoor/outdoor cats Many indoor cats return when its quiet and dark usually 10pm-6:30am so if possible leave your door/window open slightly for it to return. This method works well for indoor cats that escape. Put out some of your smelliest worn clothing (runners, sweaty shirts and socks) with your scent on and keep calling for it frequently as it will hear your voice. Replace clothing each day so that the strong scent is maintained. It may take a few days or so for it to get the confidence to return but the main thing is that it needs a way inside when it’s quiet. Secure any other pets in a room so they can't also escape. Put out some wet food and water. DO NOT place a cat litter tray out as this may attract other cats, especially Tom cats and predators which will frighten your cat away. Search your yard and your neighbors yards/patios/garage/sheds/bushes thoroughly. Click on link for some tips https://www.vokra.ca/lost-cat http://www.catsinthebag.org/
