Message from Owner

Hi everyone this is my baby milo, he’s 3 and has gone missing off greenwood road winchester virginia. He’s neutered and microchipped. He’s a very sweet boy and sometimes he goes outside cause my family leaves the sliding door open. He’s never ran away, i’ve moved with him to several hses and he’s never tried to run away or he’s never stayed gone for more than a morning or so. He always comes to cuddle with me when i’m home and it breaks my heart him not being here. i’m scared of the thought that i’ve lost him, i’m scared he has gone to look for me cause i haven’t been home much with work. Please help find milo. My number is.

Talk softly when calling late night and during the night to early morning when it quite out .. Might wait in between to see if you hear them meow nearby .... For indoor cats if there is any way you could leave your door garage door or window slightly ajar if possible they know where they got out and will often come back in on their own .. If you didn't see them get out check deep dresser drawers, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, under beds in box springs, behind the frig, the stove, behind or under the sofa, under or in the recliner the washer/dryer or inside if left open .. basement crawl space .. attic .. anywhere small or behind a cat can hide they will! If out cats will hide during the day and are more active late evening near dark to early morning , daybreak ... have a spot light to shine to see eyes in the dark .. they are usually close by and will often come back to the door .. or hide under bushes or decks to feel safe ! Also check crawl spaces under houses , garages, sheds of neighbors nearby ...No food out after dark it will attract area strays and wildlife to the area ... check culvert pipes .. storm drains .. up trees .. and colder weather they will get under car hoods for warmth and on tires also ...this can happen and they could be miles from home . Cats in a new home need at least 30 days to adjust to a new area and may and will travel to get back to their old home .. In some cases a set trap may be needed and monitored! A Trail cam or night vision goggles can help to monitor the areas outside! Post to Nextdoor Ask neighbors to check their Ring Doorbells... Beware of loose and roaming dogs in the area as they will chase and your cats! For automatic garage doors please place a 6x6 block or cinder block so that the door will not come all the way down and trap your pet as they can be injured! Check with area Shelters, Animal Control, and Vets offices also put flyers ... Am sure you have tried most all of these! Don't give up!!

Use a flashlight 🔦- even in the daytime and look in and under everything in your yard and nearby like under decks shrubs and in sewer drains. The light can show them hiding by their eye reflection. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Put their water out and food bowl 🥣 Feed him/her at the scheduled times and call loudly to them. Worn tshirts or fabrics like pillow cases near or just beyond the borders of your property call help orient them. (Cats cover their business well to avoid alerting enemies to their presence. Even though some recommend putting the litter box outside? There’s a possibility it could make them more skittish or afraid!) A trail cam can help tell if he’s sneaking around in middle of the night. Put up posters so neighbors know who he/she is. Check near any cat colonies/feeding stations. Check and post on Pawboost Nextdoor and Ring app. Really hope they are home safe asap!

Please try these tips they have definitely helped others to get their pet home. Watch a tip video on youtube about how to find your lost cat, there are several. Post and check on Nextdoor for sightings. Also just heard about this site offering great useful tips so definitely check it out “lostcatfinder.com” Just know your kitty is probably not far away so the sooner the better, put out something of yours or the cats out for scent, putting out the litter box is not recommended as it attracts unwanted critters that could possibly scare your cat off again. 🔺SO IMPORTANT…. Look with flashlight early a.m. and/or late at night, calling and shaking food. That part is crucial because those are the quiet hours and your cat would be more prone to coming out of hiding. put up flyers too. If you get any sightings use a trap, sometimes you can borrow from animal control or Amazon has them. I have recently heard some take smelly, oily fish (juice only) (sardines, tuna) and make a “smelly trail” around their house to help with scent. Dont give up too soon , i had one gone for weeks and as i was about to give up, my last night to call her, she was in our yard. Also just heard someone found theirs after 70 days so…… 🙏🏻🙏🏻 EDIT: Regarding looking early a.m. or late p.m. hours I feed a stray and I see him on our ring camera before it gets truly light so when I say early a.m. I mean something like 530 am. Also when searching if you notice any feral cat colonies/feeding stations, definitely check them out

Ask neighbors to check sheds, crawl spaces, garages, under decks, bushes, and anywhere else he could be trapped or hiding. Put up flyers, post on NextDoor, and notify and visit animal control. Best of luck!
