Posting for a friend. This beautiful cat may have been dumped in the wooded area next to the large parking lot of Mill Lake Pond Park in Orange City on S. Oak Avenue (nearest cross streets are E. Rose Avenue and E. Banana Avenue). It was spotted 1 December, terrified in the middle of the road as if it had just been dumped from the car driving off. Not terribly afraid of people, but scared, shy and runs off when approached. Looks to have been well fed and loved by someone.. My friend is not sure of , but we suspect it's a female based on the behavior of other cats in the area. She is doing what she can to befriend and trap it. It will come up for food, but dashes off when she gets close to it.
