San Jose, CA Stray Female Dog Found Near Downtown San Jose under a bridge

Dama was found tied beneath a bridge without food or water. A homeless gentleman had been doing his best to care for her after she was abandoned, but could no longer keep her. I couldn't leave her there. She jumped right into my car and curled up beside me, as though she knew she was safe. ❤️ In just 16 hours, I fell in love with this sweet girl. Dama is affectionate, loves walks, gives the best cuddles, and happily rolls over for belly rubs. She slept peacefully beside me all night. I took her to a 24 hour ER vet. She's microchipped, but the registered phone number is disconnected. Her compatibility with other animals is unknown. Sadly, I couldn't keep her because I have two small, special-needs dogs. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking. Dama is now safely at the shelter, but her story doesn't have to end there. She deserves a safe, loving forever home. https://24petconnect.com/SNJSAllPets/Details/SNJS/A1405255

If you have not already, please get this pup to a vet and scanned for a chip; also please check the Pawboost LOST listings. If no success with the chip scan, please post flyers in the area where s/he was found, and consider knocking on doors. Not everyone is on social media. If you are considering it, please do not accept offers from individuals who offer to adopt or take a dog to a rescue without personally knowing them. If you cannot locate the dog’s family, please be sure to get the dog to a legitimate animal care facility who will properly care for the dog and either find the the dog’s people or find the dog a new home. Please don’t try to place the dog on your own. Sadly, there are many folks out there with less than altruistic motives who will offer to ‘help.’ ***And please, verify that the person claiming this dog as a member of their family can prove that claim.*** Especially with breeds that have a high monetary value. Thank you for caring for this pup meanwhile.
