Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.

To find your cat you need to do the following. Put up a poster in a sheet protector then adhere to fluorescent poster paper and strategically attach to light posts in high traffic areas in the community where the cat was lost and over the weeks expand your search to neighbouring communities. Also put up posters in areas where you receive legitimate leads. You need to let your neighbours know that your cat is lost and solicit their help in locating your cat. Very few people in your community will be on Pawsboost Alert and will not see this post. Once you locate your cat you will most likely need a cat trap to capture it because it will be in survival mode and won’t come when called. Daisy was located within a month and I recently helped find Kronk within a week using posters.

I know this is not ideal, but if you can, leave your door open a little bit and put out your worn clothing and some food. We did this and our cat came home in the middle of the night after missing for 3 days.
