Please file a missing cat report with Virginia Beach animal control. If this cat is chipped, make sure the registry has your current contact information. Check the shelter several times a week. Good night after 10 PM go out of your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight. Walk around your yard quietly calling your cat’s name and shaking the kitty treats bag. Use the flashlight to look in the bushes to see if you see your cat hiding. Print flyers with your cat picture and your contact information and take around to your neighbors, ask them to call you if they see your cat. Also, they’ve been in their shed, out building or garage. Cats go into those places to hide and when the door is closed, they cannot get out and you cannot hear cat crying to get out of a structure. Look under deck, porches, and under any structure with an open crawlspace. Indoor cats usually don’t stray more than 5 to 7 homes from their own.
