Description

Black and white male cat- no chip and no collar- he is an indoor cat - he has been lost since December 23rd- apparently he was hiding in the couch we were getting rid of- when the movers took it to the dump, Honu was somehow hiding in the couch. He was taken 25 min away to the landfill/dump behind N. 38th St. Richmond, VA 23223 (East Richmond Road Landfill). To confirm this is what happened, we hired a K9 tracking dog who picked up Honu's scent around this area. We have not had a sighting, but his scent was confirmed down there. We miss him tremendously and want to help get him back where he belongs. Please be on the lookout. We appreciate the community support we have received greatly and appreciate any and all leads.

Message from Owner

This morning around 10 AM, our sweet boy (Honu) was spooked by some movers removing furniture from our hse. The side door was left open for him to exit - He is a very sweet boy, but very easily spooked. The tough part about this happening is that he does not have a chip and he also does not have a collar. We are very worried and would be extremely grateful for your help looking for him so we can get Honu back and warm 😢 We are offering a reward - we desperately want him . ****MISSING**** Tuxedo Cat 6 years old Male Neutered 15 pounds at disappearance NO Chip NO Collar Indoor only Most likely in complete hiding Our home is near Freeman Highschool in Henrico. Where Honu apparently is: Churchill/Oakwood area near Franklin Military Institute Where could he be at this moment? We are unclear. Scent trail from K9 trackers was picked up two weeks ago which confirms Honu is still alive. With how he went missing, it’s possible he could attempt to jump into another vehicle or end up in a completely different location again. NO chip and NO collar makes this a bit more challenging and want to be sure everyone in both locations is made aware of him. Please do not chase or try to catch him. We ask that you please send a video or photo if you believe you have seen him to 949-554-3905. We are desperate to get him home- We won’t give up on you, Honu boy.

Update- The 25th St Market place ended up being a false sighting. Confirmed sighting off of 32nd St in between Clay and alright. Please don’t chase or call out to him- we just ask if you’re able to snap a pic in time, send it our way. Thank you!

FYI, I just read of another lost cat found after 41 days about a mile from home. So they can stray far from home sometimes.
