Message from Owner

Mayros is an indoor outdoor cat. He comes in every night and does not stray from our backyard. However, he was last seen on my deck around 3 PM on Sunday did not come back for his dinner that night and we have not seen him all day Monday through the night either. while not unfriendly he is not overly friendly either will not vital scratch, but not sure he will approach if you have seen him anywhere or he has sheltered in one of your outbuildings from the storm. Sandra Maxwell-Jones Osowski post missing flyers in the area. Not everyone is on facebook. There are people who feed stray cats and he could be coming around and they may think he’s just another stray cat. He could also have gotten trapped in someone’s garage/shed/abandoned building.

It’s now been 23 days and there is absolutely no sign of him dead or alive. There is no point putting a trap out as he is used to being outdoors. He was within striking distance of the trap. He would waiting outside the door to be let in. I suspect he has wandered off my property somehow and got lost and can’t find his way home. Please look for him again around your home. Any sightings of a black cat have not seen before please contact me.

Mayros is still missing after 7 days, please look around for him, any sightings of an unknown black cat can help, if he has wandered out if his home turf it could help as a location to put a trap. he is very wary of people so probably would not allow himself to be picked up. Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.
