Chance is missing! We are a military family relocating to out of state. Our cat of 14 years went missing Thursday night. Please help us find him before we have to leave for our new base. He is wearing a red collar and is microchipped. Thank you for your help.

Chance is still missing as of 09 August 2026. It would be extremely helpful if you are in the Spring Valley area and let us know if you see a cat that looks like him. If you are able to catch him please take him to your nearest shelter/vet to get scanned. Thank you!

I am so sorry about your cat. Keep posting on social media such as the next-door app, PetHarbor, pawboost.com, PetRadar.org, Ring app, Missing Rover, and so on. Put their pet bed or blanket outside so they can recognize their scent. It's also good to put food outside. If your pet has a microchip, call the microchip company to make sure all your contact information is updated and let them know he or she is missing. Go to the local animal shelter called The Animal Foundation on Mojave to check to see if animal control found your pet. Post up signs around your neighborhood. Walk around and talk to neighbors. Again, most pets are found close to where they went missing. Don't give up. Sometimes pets can go missing for a long time and then show up at your house or are found.

Best time to look for cats is dusk and dawn with a flashlight in trees and under bushes and vehicles their eyes will shine. Do not put litter box outside as it will attract coyotes and other predators.
