Description

Orange tabby, royal blue harness

Message from Owner

Watson is our beloved 12 year old orange tabby and has been missing since Friday night. He normally goes outside during the day but always comes home for dinner, so this is very unlike him. He was last wearing a royal blue harness. We are heartbroken and just want our sweet boy home. Please keep an eye out and check garages, sheds, porches, and cameras. If you see him, please call Anthony at.

Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Mainly their litter box and sprinkle their used litter around the yard as they'll recognize the smell and it'll deter other animals from coming around. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one and to check their cameras in case they appeared on them to get a sense of direction they could be. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.

Sylvia Bee, is Watson your beautiful mackerel orange (ginger) tabby cat? I'm sorry he's lost. Is your property fenced and might this be the first time Watson has breached it? I ask because his familiarity with the environment where he's lost will dictate how to find him. Escaped cats usually hide close by but are too frightened to return or respond when called; while a cat that knows his way around may have become stuck somewhere and needs help getting home. I have recovered many lost cats and assisted others so if you tell me about Watson I can provide complete instructions that may help. Please understand an escaped cat (even one familiar with a confined outdoors space) may emerge when it's dark and quiet to sneak back inside — if you do just the right things. This usually happens within the first few nights so until I hear back from you please implement this strategy if Watson got out accidentally: AT DUSK crack open the fence gate then place a bowl of food on the doorstep where he exits the house. Call him softly to provide a familiar sound and direction (he won't come on command) then watch from inside (DO NOT GO BACK OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT!) and if you see Watson approach and settle on the food be careful not to startle him. Slowly and quietly provide a clear path inside and he may put an end to the crisis himself. If you can't wait up set an alarm and watch again just before sunrise -- it's a popular time. And although some will suggest putting out kitty's litter box, experts say DON’T DO IT. I've never used one in all the times I've been successful recovering a lost cat. Please read this to learn more about why it's neither necessary nor recommended: https://www.facebook.com/notes/lost-cats-georgia/why-we-dont-recommend-putting-your-lost-cats-litter-box-outside/1101245526665296/

We've been successful in putting clothes and blankets with our scent in outside on porches and sidewalks. Hope your furbaby gets home soon
