My inside cat, Rue, got out of the hse around 5am on August 18th. She is 6 yrs old and around 10 lbs and has never been outside. We would really like her to come back home.

Don’t give up. We live in Peach Hill and about 15 years ago our cat went missing. It was well over 3 months that she was gone. We My son’s friends would say every once in awhile they thought they saw Zoe. My husband worked evenings at Los Robles Hospital and he even said he thought he saw her up on Tierra Rejada on his way home from work. I just kept saying it’s been too long. Mind you this cat was always one for adventures. When she was just a couple years old she disappeared and then the Agoura Shelter called me and said they had her. Some woman brought her in. She had stopped to get gas in Agoura and found our cat and took her to the shelter. All we could conclude was she got in someone’s car in the neighborhood and they stopped for gas and she hopped out. Anyway back to the first story. One day I was at work and someone called me and said she had my cat. And I said Gracie? (Zoe’s mom). And she said no Zoe. I could not believe it. She had made her way to Mountain Meadows and was pretty skinny. This woman and her daughter took care of her and took her to her vet and they checked for a chip. I couldn’t believe it after all that time.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO CAT BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
