I had a blue crowned conure who one day decided to go on an adventure and after a few closer stops ended up on a power line down below my home. I could hear him and kept talking. I followed his voicing and sat nearby calling and talking and letting him know I was there. No one would help nit the fire department, not the humane and most people announced that he was only a bird. No not so he was a little big man small in stature but a giant among living beings and I loved him deeply. Eventually a tree guy drove by and offered to help. I went home and retrieved his cage and the tree guy carried it up the power post and he hopped into his cage. Greenie or the green machine as I often called him and I were together for thirty plus years. Call your friend every day and let him or her know you are still there...

I'll tell you a personal story that will give you hope: Years ago when I was a teacher at Balboa High School, I walked into my third floor classroom at 7:30 in the morning. The classroom overlooked the courtyard below, and in a tall tree just outside one of the windows, was a cockatiel. He remained there all morning, barely moving. When my break time came at 11 o'clock, I went across the street to the corner market and bought a seed stick to try to lure the bird. Standing under the tree, I had no luck. So I got the janitor to get a tall ladder and had a boy climb it with the seed stick. Still no luck… The cockatiel would not move. During my lunch, I checked the Chronicle newspaper under classifieds and found an ad for a missing cockatiel. It was from Burlingame, which is around 15 miles south. It said the bird's name was Kiki. Well, I tried it again with the kid, climbing the ladder and this time, he called, "Kiki! Kiki!" ... the cockatiel immediately perked up and started squawking, and hopped down off his perch went directly to the boy, who gently grabbed it and and put it in his hat. We placed Kiki in a covered box and called his owner. I delivered him to her house after school that day. Another time, I was walking my dogs in the morning when I saw a white parakeet standing on top of a PG&E box in front of the house. He wasn't going to move. I went home and returned with my butterfly net and gently put him in a paper bag. Then I dropped him off at the local animal shelter. So you see? Sometimes things work out. I hope you get reunited with.Pepe.💕💕

Helga Marr hi Helga, I actually spoke to a neighbor who mentioned to me that the famous flock of conures in SF that lives on Telegraph Hill has been coming around our neighborhood for the last 2-3wks. So if that's the case and he joined them, who knows if I'll get him back. He will surely latch on to the flock. But I will do a search around that area, and those you mentioned. thank you for the insight. I hadnt thought of that. much appreciated
