Description

$500 REWARD FOR SAFE RETURN HOME/MICROCHIP SCAN AT HUMANE SOCIETY/WILVET ANIMAL hosp Black & white cat, 10lb. Very skittish and will run - please do not chase. Hides when scared. Very sweet and vocal once she feels safe around people she knows. Microchipped. She does NOT feel safe with strangers and that is why keeping distance, moving very slow and establishing calm presence over time is best. DO NOT chase or try to grab her immediately because she will bolt. Sylvie is my everything. Please help me find her. She was so terrified when she unexpectedly got out of her carrier outside the vet hosp. The vet tech meant well (such kind and sweet people) but she should not have pushed her with a stick when she was under the car and I was trying to coax her out. She bolted and now she is gone. She is very skittish and I am her safe person… took a long time to gain her trust when I first rescued her and now we are inseparable after two years. Please help me find her! We are supposed to move but I’m not going home an hour away to even finish packing or think of a move until I know she’s safe and that I’ve done everything to get her back. She is not familiar with this place so everything helps. Thank you for the local support. It means so much! I love her and miss her with all my heart! Please please help me find her 🙏🏼 Please. Please help me bring her home 💝

JT Sarreal Bless you for your dedication to finding Sylvie. Take heart - I have read many a success story - one from an accident in a very busy section of I5 in CA - cat escaped the car - owners gave everyone fliers and 2 weeks later the cat was trapped in a humane trap and reunited. Sylvie is very afraid of the noises - the new smells - not familiar safe environment - they go into a 'flight or fright' mode where even the owner can stand above them and call out to them but they are locked into this fear afraid to move. Eventually she will want water and food and then make her way cautiously to where she deems is safe. But if you are there camped out - good - when she comes out of her 'flight or fright' mode and hears your voice or smells that familiar scent. Patience. But you are a very dedicated pet owner - I too would do the same as you - just wait there for her when she decides to move. Continued prayers.

Hi everyone. I don’t have social media - I just opened my old account here for the sole purpose of helping communicate with people to find my cat. I agree that in person flyers and all of those things are most effective, but I continually check here just in case someone has seen her. Thank you for all the tips - I’ve tried to respond to them all. I appreciate it and though I’m still going to spend most the time out here posting flyers and talking to neighbors and setting up traps (I even bought a trail cam pointed toward the trap in case I find something that isn’t her while im gone and have to release it). Devastated and sad. She’s so terrified. She was before she fled I’ve never seen her so scared and frozen but she accidentally got out in a weird place and when the vet tech, gave her a little push to see if she would move to the other side, she bolted instead. She is NOT good with strangers and that is why keeping distance and not chasing her is best because she will bolt. Thank you again so much and I will try to keep an eye out for anything here from someone local who can either help (it’s just me here day and night & I live an hour away) or has seen here. Thank you again everyone. I appreciate you 🫶🏼 I love Sylvie so much. This is a horrific nightmare. I wake up and she’s not here… it’s terrible to be away from my fur fam. I’m postponing a move until I find her. However long it takes, I just need to know she’s ok and that she’s coming home. Thank you

Nayak Sam thank you yes I already have a cat trap with familiar scents and her food not far from where she was lost. She does not know this neighborhood or area, so I’m keeping it as close to her last known area but in the area I know she would try to hide where it is quieter and darker, but still accessible. Consistency is key. I just keep staying in the same general area calling to her - day and nighttime so she has a chance to hear me and understand I’m still in the same area waiting for her with all her things. We live an hour away, so I’m camped out here just hoping someone finds her

Suzan Reynolds yes thank you. We are NOT at home, she got lost out here next to the vet, so I’ve been camped out in the parking lot every night calling to her in the neighborhood and putting scents out in her familiar carrier and food… all the things. Everyone has her flyer and picture but still nothing. I hope someone finds her soon. She’s very indoor and was very very terrified when she fled the animal hospital/got spooked. It’s horrific. Thank you for the tips - yes, I’ve done all that. I hope to find her soon. She’s everything. I miss her so much 💝

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

Kat Quilliamthank you for this we live over an hour away from the vet where she was lost she it is very unfamiliar and scary. She hides. But consistency is key. I’ll be out there every night in the area she was lost until they kick me out. Thank you! Maybe I can put her familiar smells in a humane trap nearby too. Will do anything - this is my baby! It’s cold and scary out there at night. She’s very scared and very spooked but hope she hears me calling - I’m terrified for her poor baby . This is so hard. Thank you for the support!!!

Thank you soooo much! Will do! I don’t have FB (I haven’t used this in years) but I am Sylvie’s mama and I miss her so much!!! Thank you thank you 🙏🏼 I’ve been calling to her for over 12hrs in the area with all her familiar things and smells and food. Will be back out there tonight but will put up flyers during the day. Thank you! This gives me hope! I love her so much. She is very indoor and I’m devastated
