Message from Owner

Please help us find Romeo !!!!! He survived a hse fire when he was 2 years old that seared off all his whiskers, eye brows and eye lashes. He loves to be the first one to answer the door to great people by flopping down waiting for belly rub before they enter. He is an indoor cat however knowing how much he loves watching birds and bathing in the sun I got a harness and leash so that we could go for walks, runs and let watch and chase the birds, rabbits with some bathing after. His favorite outdoor night activity is leaping at the small bugs that fly in and out of the grass. He feels safe in cars, and very talkative. Being and indoor cat he is going to be very scared just trying to survive looking for any place to hide to get as close to the ground as possible. If have or think you might have seen him please use a soft voice to call his name and or please reply flyer and or contact me phone/text with any possible sighting at Rick 24/7 THANK YOU EVERYONE for helping & keeping a look out

Trudy Dollman me too!! Especially bcuz this sweet little furbaby is exclusively an INDOOR CAT! My indoor cat was so scared when she tore a hole in my screen door and disappeared. She was literally shaking when I finally spotted her. Took a lot of Temptations and soothing "I love yous" to get her from under the dense hedges surrounding my building!! 🙀😿🙀😿🙀

Could your kitty be trapped in a neighbors shed or other outbuilding even an RV?

If this is an indoor only cat that never goes out, look close. Indoor only cats when lost get scared and hide because it is unknown territory and usually do not come out when you call. Usually are within 3 or 4 houses . Put out something with your scent such as a piece of clothing or blanket. Call at dusk, dawn and night and shake the treats. Get in your neighbour's yards and look under decks, sheds, in trees, bushes, in garages, under vehicles and hood or anywhere they can hide. Put up lots of posters. If you are searching at night, use a flashlight as their eyes glow in the dark. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=388310901737884

Many indoor cats return when it's quiet and dark usually between 9:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. so if it is possible, leave the door/window (or garage) open slightly for him to return. If you have any other pets secure them in a room for the night. This works well for these indoor cats that get out. Put out some worn clothing with your scent and keep calling for him frequently as he should hear your voice. Check your yard and ask your neighbor if you can check their yards/patios/bushes thoroughly with a good flashlight. Put up lots of posters with a large colored picture of him around your area. You can also purchase a humane trap at Rona, Canadian tire or on Marketplace. This method works well for these shy indoor cats that get out. Line the bottom of the trap with newspaper and cover the sides and top with a sheet...don't cover the back. You would have to Google how to set it up properly to trap a cat for best results.

*Keep trying what's listed....All the best in your beautiful cat's return,~💜💜 **Cats that get outside, they tend to panic & hide, usually close to home. When it's dark out, go outside with a flashlight or headlamp & look under every bush, vehicles anything they might go to for safety around your home. Watch for their Eyes to light up with the beam of the flashlight. Let neighbors know, they sometimes will get locked in an open shed & Put posters up. Leave out some bedding/clothing of theirs & yours, but NOT the litter box. However some folks have set the litter box out with success - this is up to you. Going out with a bag of treats OR whatever your cat loves to eat... calling their name. IF at all possible to leave a window or door open, when it's quiet many have come back. Continue looking & calling. The cat is scared & hiding & may have been chased. REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT! Consider building a CATIO - for THEIR safety. https://thefurbearers.com/.../catio-season-why-cat.../
