Message from Owner

We have had Malz since he was six weeks old. He quickly stole all of our hearts with his brilliant personality. His favourite place to sleep at night was at my wife's feet, on our bed. Our home feels suddenly quite emply without him. We are all very worried and hope we find him soon.

The kitty is probably hiding close to home and scared. Call the kitty’s name softly morning noon and night. Late at night. Rattle a treats bag. Put out toys and food and water. Rig up a cat shelter - place articles of clothing and blankets that smell like home in the shelter. Posters work. Make posters and put them up everywhere with your phone number visibly on the poster. Ask for sightings. Don’t give up.

Try putting the cat litter box out by the door and of course anything the cat lies on. They have a great sense of smell they're nocturnal don't usually go too far so keep your eyes on the box after dark. This has worked for other people and it worked for me hope it works for you good luck

Shared. If you have not yet done ALL these things, do them now. If you have, do them again and go further in your search. Notify Vaughan Animal Services and check their website for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies in garages, sheds, basement etc.. If he was injured he may be hiding. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot him searching for food. In case he might still be around, leave his used litter and some food and water in hidden places near the door he left NOW and check at dusk. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters. Put a notice in nearby neighbours mailboxes, post on local notices boards, in community centres, churches and schools. Go out after dark bring food and treats, search a 5+ block radius, stop periodically and softly call but do not make any loud noises or sudden moves. Lost cats are terrified and do not recognize their owner as safe.

Go out around 2AM with smelly food or treats and call softly for him. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Post lots of signs. Also a good idea to stick notes through your neighbour’s door or mailbox for them to check their properties.
