Description

Senior Lab-shepherd mix, tan/orange coat, brown collar. Walks with a limp from her back left leg. She is hesitant with strangers but should respond to “Lucy” “Lu” or “tickles”

Message from Owner

Lucy is lost and needs help finding her way home. She is a senior lab-shepherd mix staying with my in-laws while we are out of state for the week, she got spooked from nearby construction and has run away. We live in a rural neighborhood but close to the 67 which I pray she doesn’t cross or get close to. She is hesitant with strangers but should give some response to “Lucy” “Lu” or “tickles”. She is 12 years old and has a bad back left leg from surgery when she was a puppy. I’ve had her since she was 4 months old and she means the world to me. If you see her please don’t chase. She’s more responsive to calm demeanor, and not super food motivated.

Call/text Babs Fry, in San Diego ASAP . She donates her time to help people. She’ll tell you what to do and what not to do! Leave gate and door open and put your stinkiest laundry outside1-619-249-2221 - dirty underwear and socks - they’ll try to smell their way home. Don't walk all over spreading your scent looking for them. You need huge full size neon poster board signs saying LOST DOGS and DO NOT CHASE on top - an 8 x 11 photo with phone number underneath. Check www.24Petconnect.com. AVAS does not use 24Petconnect. Dogs in the care of AVAS can be viewed on the Adopt a Pet website or on the sheter website. https://www.adoptapet.com/shelter/82156/available-pets/pets#current_page=1#clanId=1 Put at every intersection near you. Print flyers exactly the same and hand out to neighbors. Babs's help is FREE. She runs a nonprofit dedicated to helping find lost dogs. Post on www.nextdoor.com also. Enter a large area because dogs could have been dropped at a different shelter.

If you're in contact with Babs Fry please let her know of the possible sighting on the 67 headed towards Poway that someone mentioned. Sightings are crucial. If you're working w/ Babs, please make sure your inlaws follow her instructions to the letter. Also crucial. Babs is the best of the best

Action Action to take if you lose a pet in San Diego IMPORTANT:Make sure you leave access open for your dog to return (plus smelly food and something that smells like the owner like dirty laundry)...Do Not leave the area, the dog will return looking for you (your scent), perhaps when it gets dark. Consult with Babs Fry, who will provide free guidance. Her number 619 249-2221 (CAREFUL of SCAMS, like drones or AI pics of your dog with a demand for money) 1. Post pet info, plus your contact info on social media: A. Lost and found pets, B. East County Pets, on Facebook C. Craigslist D. Nextdoor (.com)-local zip, on Internet. Neighbors by Ring E. Pawboost (.com). (Post your number in the description) F. Check 24petconnect .com 2. Check local shelters, in person, Bonita, Carlsbad, Mission Valley, Oceanside, Escondido, El Cajon and Chula Vista Check and web sites: —www.sdhumane. org, Mission Valley, Oceanside, Escondido, El Cajon —www.sddac (.com) Bonita, Carlsbad —Also check 24petconnect .com 3. Put up posters in the vicinity...have someone do it that the dog does not strongly identify with. Owner needs to stay home, to keep the scent localized! 4. Post pic on lost.Petcolove. org 5. Post on petharbor. com and findingrover. com 7. Lost2Found is free and easy to use! Pet owners text “LOST” to 858-SAN-LOST (858-726-5678)
