Adult tabby-and-white cat found sheltering underneath the crawl space of a business in Sacramento. No collar visible. She is cautious and will move away if we get too close, but she is not extremely skittish or acting completely feral. She watches us closely and seems somewhat accustomed to people. I have been leaving dry cat food and water, but she has shown very little interest in the dry food. When I opened a can of sardines, however, she immediately popped her head up at the sound of the can opening, which makes me wonder if she may be someone’s pet who is accustomed to wet food. Most importantly, her BACK RIGHT LEG appears to be severely injured. When she walks, she drags the leg and does not appear able to use it normally. She is still mobile and retreats underneath the building when approached, so we have not been able to safely catch her. She needs veterinary attention as soon as possible.
