Tommy's Owner Says

Hello everyone! We’re so happy to share that Tommy has officially been reunited with his family! 🐾❤️ Thankfully, we were able to have him scanned for a microchip, which provided us with contact information. From there, we were able to reach the right people, who helped alert his family and let them know that Tommy was safe and ready to come home. Tommy is now safely back with his family. Thank you so much to everyone who helped, shared the posts, and spread the word. We truly appreciate all of your support and help in getting Tommy back home where he belongs. God bless you all! 🙏🏼❤️. Also the owners did not consent me to take a picture of them together so you guys could see but that’s totally fine, i respect their decision and privacy.

Please get this pet for a microchip. It’s free at your vet’s office, petco, pet smart, many fire stations and police stations, animal humane societies, animal shelter (though they may want to keep the dog), and some groomers have scanners too.

This is a dog you FOUND, correct? And you have the dog now so it’s safe? If so, Thank you SO VERY MUCH for keeping this pet safe and ensuring that anyone who claims to be the owner IS in fact the rightful owner. Be careful…. The owner will be able to tell YOU the pet’s name, gender, color of collar and any identifying marks / characteristics. You shouldn’t post online (Facebook) any of the above info about the pet you found. And don’t share it with the possible owner. Let the owner of a missing pet give you the info about their pet. Request photos of their missing pet. See if the pet responds to the pet’s name the person gives you. See if the pet you found matches the description / characteristics they provide. The owner will also have vet records to share. Also please contact the local animal shelter and report this pet as found. Pet’s family should call there or go there looking for their fur baby. You should be able to foster the pet at your home, so that the pet doesn’t have to stay at the shelter. However, the shelter be aware that you found him/her. I also recommend putting a simple Found Cat or Found Dog in your yard and at your mailbox in case pet’s owners drive around looking for him or her. Also lets your mailman, neighbors and other delivery people know about the pet. They may hear of a missing pet and now will know you found one. And, it can be a good idea to walk a found dog on leash around the neighbor to see if the dog leads you to their home and to see if anyone recognizes the pooch. Does not apply to found cats.

Please change post to FOUND dog. Scan for a microchip, post on Nextdoor, neighbors.ring, and 24petconnect. Hang bilingual flyers. Ask for proof of ownership. Notify the county shelter that you have the pet. If there’s a rabies tag on the collar, the county can trace the owner.
