Message from Finder

Found in a thunderstorm with a shock collar, I whistled him over and hasn’t left since. The chip is unregistered and has no information on it. Thunderstorms and shock collars don’t mix, and I really don’t like shock collars so I removed it. Will return dog and collar with proof of ownership. -Thank you

Hey I may be able to help. I think I have found him before, in that area but he had a collar with number and address last time. Let me look back through my call records and find the number

Marlene Prusaczyk in short “shock” collars are not made to cause them harm despite the name. They rumble when they go beyond sensors to deter them from making the leap or leaving their yard because they can easily jump property fences.

Marlene Prusaczyk not to be rude but that name is highly misleading. They normally just rumble to signal to your pet they’re out of their area they don’t actually taze them. It’s normally used for high activity breeds such as Aussie to deter them from going outside of their yards into danger ( I don’t use this on mine but I am educated on the process ) and an Aussie which is a highly active breed can easily jump a fence. Mine has jumped up to 6ft and I have owned more than one, all could clear that distance. The owner was likely making a responsible choice and it ran out of battery which caused the Aussie to break out. They are a highly active breed used normally for herding and easily distracted. I think finding their owner should be the focus here. He’s likely upset to be away as they are incredibly loyal and he didn’t mean to stray but his pedigree caused him to do so by mistake.
