Description

Young grey short hair cat with a white spot on their chest and a ringed tail

Message from Finder

Sweetest, most affectionate cat found in Church Hill! They were hiding from the rain on a porch and seemed afraid of cars/street sounds, but this cat is extremely affectionate and comfortable with people. They approached me immediately and tried to come inside with me. Their very friendly behavior makes me think they are not a stray, and are either lost or abandoned, but I took them to be scanned and they do not have a microchip.

Maya Janssen cats don’t often travel that far, but happy to text you some additional pictures! I haven’t been able to determine its yet. But they have a white spot on their chest and some rings on their tail, if that helps.

Clydeine Adamchick I took them to Richmond Animal Care & Control to scan for a microchip, which they do not have. So they are aware. But there’s tons of shelters and rescues in Richmond so I haven’t reached out to all of them, I’ve focused on posting on PawBoost, social media, and Church Hill neighborhood groups.

Did you let the shelter know that you found the cat. Owners may have called or will call.

Do you have any other photos of this cat and can you tell if it’s a male or female, we lost our cat in Williamsburg that looks really similar to this one. You can contact me at 323-949-9951

Jean Lester absolutely! Since they weren’t microchipped I will absolutely be requiring photographic evidence that this is their cat if anyone contacts me. I know people will try to claim or snag cats for nefarious purposes, so I will be extra certain before I hand this sweet baby over.
