Lynda Preston-Draughon Your Missing Cat will try to re-enter the home when the neighborhood is quiet. If it all possible, leave the door ajar that the kitty escaped from and secure other companion animals to a separate room of the home. He/she will try to re-enter when the neighborhood is quiet in the evening and overnight hours. Make sure you physically check underneath and in the engine compartment of your vehicles prior to starting in the morning. Litter box WILL attract community cats and predators, potentially pushing your lost cat out of the area. Clothing/bedding that smell like him/her and his/her family outside the home immediately. If you have a garage, leave the door open enough for him/her to get in. If you live in a mobile home community look under yours and your neighbors homes. Check around your home: bushes, up in trees, deck, porch etc. If their head fits their body will too! Door knock neighbors and ask them to check outbuildings, sheds, garages and ring cam footage. Go out periodically through out the night shaking his/her treats or opening a can of wet food and call to him/her. Renting/borrowing/buying a live trap and setting within the first 24 hours your cat has been missing is a good idea. Live traps need to be monitored frequently. Be prepared to release wildlife. Posting flyers in your neighborhood as well as getting a flyer to rescues, shelters and animal control services is very essential to the recovery of your lost pet.

Poor little baby prayers post some ads up around the area rewards always helps go out walking the neighborhood, knocking on doors ask your local neighbors to check their garages sheds under decks under vehicles behind bushes and Barnes go out walking the neighborhood several times during the day and several times very late at night Shaking a treat bag calling for your cat. They usually stay within 5 to 7 houses from home. they usually get scared and hide. They usually come home between the hours of 12 AM and 6 AM when it’s very quiet outside keep your eyes and ears open prayers check with local veterinarians check with local animal shelter and Humane Society. You must let them know you lost your cat just in case somebody finds it poor baby prayers pull some ads on local Lost and Found pet sites. You can Google these in your area such as neighbors next door and so on there should be four or five you can google on your area. Poor baby prayers you can also try putting in your cats, bad blanket toys, and some of the your dirty clothing from inside the house do not wash these items such as T-shirts, sweaters, blankets sheets put these items out on your porch. Keep your eyes open animals. Have a great sense of smell, change outside items every couple of days this works great for cats and dog this work for me and my cats for several years and recently prayers.

Cats typically stay close to home. Cats can become disoriented and you will need to go get them. Go out when it's quiet and take a flashlight and a favorite toy or treat to shake when calling for them. Be prepared to crawl into a space to get them. Check crawl spaces with a flashlight. I had one that was disoriented and the flashlight caught the top of his ears. I had to crawl in and get him. I've found him in a bush another time. The flashlight caught the reflection of his eyes. The vet explained it's because they are territorial animals and can become disoriented. I have found mine under my home twice, once under a low deck, in bushes and even under a neighbor's car in their yard. Ask your neighbors if you might be allowed to look around for your pet. Put up flyers! Leave one in your car window. Post also on Next Door Neighbor and Pawboost. Alert shelters and local police.

Picture flyers on telephone poles 2to 10 square mile radius, convenience stores/ gas stations, grocery and pet stores too. Keep checking shelters in your county and animal control also.
