Message from Owner

Hey neighbours, my cat Wallace, a short-haired tabby, escaped around 11 p.m. last night while I was taking out the garbage, and he still hasn’t come home. 😢 This rarely happens, and I’m usually able to grab him right away, but this time I couldn’t. I live alone, and Wallace means the absolute world to me. I’m so worried, especially with the rain. Please check your patios, under furniture, bushes, sheds, or anywhere he may be hiding. If you see him, please call or text me anytime at. Thank you so much for helping me bring Wallace home. ❤️

Get out and walk the blocks! Post posters in several blocks! They don't usually go far! Ask residents to look in sheds garages anywhere they can hide! Look up in trees where they go for safety! Look in bushes Join neighborhood groups! Best time to search is the middle of the Night 3-5 am Put a cardboard box with something with your scent outside! LOOK IN TREES! SHEDS GARAGES ANY ITEMS WITH A TARP on it

Samantha Elliott I’m sorry. Don’t give up. He’s going to be so scared. Maybe hiding somewhere… tomorrow go see if he was picked up. We will keep praying.. so sad.

Dana Bee no :(. I looked for him throughout the night and morning. I’m sick to my stomach. He is microchipped but no animals shelters are open today

Thank you all so much. I am absolutely devastated, been searching for hours and I have not stopped crying. He is my soul cat. True heartbreak. It has been pouring all day as well. It’s been close to 24 hours now. I’ve posted posters all around.

I know this is not ideal, but if you can, leave your door open a little bit and put out your worn clothing and some food. We did this and our cat came home in the middle of the night after missing for 3 days.

Have neighbors check garages and sheds. Have a tree out back? Check that too. Leave your garage door up a little so they can return home to a familiar place. Place a box outside with blankets or even the clothes you wore today so a cat can pick up the scent and make it home. If you are new to this area, have friends keep an eye out at your former home. And please: CHECK THE LOCAL SHELTERS DAILY I hope your kitty makes it back home safe very soon. Please make sure to get your cat chipped once they return, and PLEASE keep them indoors! PLEASE NEVER LOSE HOPE! LOOK UP! Cats are great climbers and looking for them on the ground only is limiting your search. Male wanderers tend to stay within a territory of about 150 acres, while females stay closer to home, roaming only about 40 acres. This means that your average male cat is likely to stay within 1500 feet of home, while your average female tends not to go much farther than 75 yards from your door. Be careful of the lost pet finders. Most of them are playing on your emotions and wanting cash up front.! https://www.pawboost.com/?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=report_pet_alert_link_lost Sacramento SPCA | (916) 383-7387 Front Street Shelter | 311 or (916) 808-7387 Bradshaw Animal Shelter | 311 or (916) 368-7387 Elk Grove Animal Services | (916) 691-2489 or (916) 714-5115 Not from the Sacramento area?
