MISSING CAT – STORMY 🐱🌩️ Anderson / Mt. Washington / Burney / Salem area Has anyone seen this sweet boy? He was last seen the day of the big storm last week near the upper Burney/Salem area. He’s a young gray-and-white tabby, neutered, but not yet microchipped. My daughter and I rescued him and his mom when they were tiny kittens behind Mercy HealthPlex and they quickly became part of our family. My daughter is currently away at sleep-away camp and my heart breaks at the thought of having to tell her that he is missing when she gets home. He is very sweet and friendly but likely scared as he isn’t outdoors often and has never been away from his mom (who is also really missing him). I’ve already tried the recommended steps (litter box outside, food at night, searching nearby the hse, etc.). If you’ve seen him or have any information, please send me a message!!! Thank you so much 🙏

I just want to share this with you. My cat Snoopy got out on a Friday night and I immediately set a trap. On Sunday, I bought a second trap. I checked the two traps after 6 am Monday morning. No luck. Monday night for the first time, I left the garage door open slightly enough for my cat Snoopy to get in and I left the cellar door open. I left the lights off in the garage and cellar, except for a light in a separate room. I put 2 blankets by the garage door entrance that Snoopy slept on. I kept all my other cats upstairs. After checking the traps with no luck, I went downstairs and I heard something and then found Snoopy in the cellar. My other cats went down to greet him. I am so grateful that Snoopy is home.

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap on amazon, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street and wouldnt let anyone near her. I saw she kept coming around the doors at night and if i didnt have other pets, i would have left the door cracked and that may have solved it. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

So sorry your baby is missing. Besides the tips below, also go to YouTube and put the sounds of kittens crying for their mom in the search bar, then walk around your house/neighborhood playing it (including inside in case he is hiding). I know it sounds weird, but cats usually respond to the sounds of other cats. If need be, borrow a trap for bigger animals and put some smelly tuna in it…just make sure the trap can be monitored (never leave a trap unattended without a camera or out in the rain) and don’t leave it out overnight since you will more than likely only attract raccoons. Tips on trapping There are several things you can do to increase your trapping success: *line the trap with newspaper – cats don’t like walking on *wire *cover the trap with a sheet, so they feel safer *place the trap in a secluded area or alongside a structure eg fence, house, under bushes. Just make sure it’s on stable ground and won’t wobble when they step on it *break up the food into small pieces and place most of it behind the pressure plate, but make a trail of small pieces of food leading into the trap. You can use a trail of fish sauce to help with this ‘chum’ the area with smell, by wiping the bait on high objects – tree trunks, fences etc. This will carry the smell, in case your cat isn’t on the property. *Why you need the trail your cat will follow their nose to food. Making a trail increases their ability to find the food in the trap. This is particularly important on still nights, or if the trap is upwind. If you have a garage, leave the door cracked so he can have a safe place to go. Go out early and late with a flashlight looking up trees, in bushes and under cars calling for him in your normal voice while shaking treats/toys. **Make sure to get brightly colored posters hung up since not everyone is on social media, and ask neighbors to check their cameras, sheds and garages. Cats usually don’t stray too far....I pray Stormy is found, or comes home! 🙏🏼🐾 https://petfbi.org/i-lost-a-cat/tips-to-lure-a-cat-back-home-2/?fbclid=IwAR1dAsh4JTpg6I5xWC-s9y3tB02rCHKxewadG1tnRl_xOekBCfdh5htqLvo https://www.pawboost.com/blog/7-effective-search-tips-for-finding-your-lost-cat/?fbclid=IwAR3rB_mMWHF2A_l2O7DLBS_HOLZGSAh_rdiQSupHw1qXnauDov8UaUE9eiA https://thecreativecat.net/indoor-cat-got-door/?fbclid=IwAR0NRe_2_4IhZK8fFT1KA9Mtcoz35yXYYrGXJls5LSU02czynhb1ZJ77rL0
