Male pearled cockatiel

Message from Owner

I live in Keizer off Windsor Island on Burbank St (cross street is Trent). My precious 6 year old pearled male cockatiel, Poppy, flew out my back door on Saturday as I was going outside. I’m completely devastated. Have had birds for 30 years & never this. I sat on the porch for hours playing cockatiel sounds, calling for him & still have his cage out there. I know the odds are slim he survived overnight in the cold & rain but if anyone sees or catches a mostly grey cockatiel with a yellow head/orange cheeks, please let me know! He is/was my world & I would be able to identify him immediately…😭💔

Existing post for Poppy on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Cpn7fZUaC/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
