Wendy Martinez at a different shelter, I paid the adoptionfee for a dog. She finally found a forever home after almost a year. That had her labeled as hates men and probably not good with small children. Her new human is a single DAD, with a 4 year old daughter. He told the shelter he really didn't care what their sign said.

Elizabeth Jelniker Pings or Tom Martino. He might be able to help find an attorney. I am so sorry this happened. Im a little unsure of the complete story. You might try a more detailed list for legal action.

Kati Scheibeler thank you for bringing this to my attention. It was posted on the SARA Facebook page as having passed, but not that the language we had worked so hard for had been removed! I have been in touch with Davyd over the years since, and was never told about the final changes! I can't believe I was unaware of it! I am so upset!

Rhonda Bliss sorry :( I just wanted to make sure I had not missed something that important, because I for sure would be telling ppl and watching it play out. I think they’re going to try again.

Kati Scheibeler I just texted Davyd Smith about this. We were involved in putting together the no- Colorado Bill HB 21-1160. I had testified before the Appropriations Committee to get this passed. I was told it passed, but was NOT told that that language had been changed at the very last minute, which actually nullified everything we had worked for! I am so upset to find this out after 4 years! I will be sure and change my responses in the future on this to make sure that animals are taken to a no- shelter. I'm very upset about this!!!

This clearly states a bite history, or ordered by a court. Animal control will clearly tell you, a dog with 3 reported bites can get put down. With a Behavior plan n training in place this can save a dogs life. We have saved many and gotten them adopted out to living family's. Let's be their voice

Did you ever find out if he was adopted out or put down?? The only way you will find out the truth is to go straight to Denver Animal Shelter and speak to them in person. Make sure to record your conversation. Yes, its true, so many people tried to save Spike, 9 months old and Denver Animal Shelter put him down. Disgusting...the way they do their behavior assessments are WRONG. A dog is scared, terrified, they throw a leash around their neck n drG them behind the front desk with 6-7 people , standing, sitting around. Then drag them in the back. Let these scared dogs, decompress, show them they are safe now. DO NOT THEM FOR BEING SCARED.
