We had a similar experience with spike, we had people go and try to get him and they had already put him down. They never reached out to any of the rescues that were calling and leaving messages. That and the whole community that was behind him and called. They said they would call back and never did. They wouldn't give any information on him not even to the rescues. And this was at the denver animal shelter.

Was this Denver Animal shelter? I just went through something similar with dog named Spike. They ed him yesterday after we had several people and rescues step up for him. They are terrible and want to make a change . Maybe the news needs to hear about this

Lewis was more than likely taken to Denver Animal Shelter based on the location he went missing from. Denver Animal Shelter will euthanize an animal at the drop of a hat 😡. I've seen this over and over again with DAS. They are the reason so many people are reluctant to take a stray animal they find to any shelter. I am so sorry about Lewis 😢.

This is a tragedy. What does not fit criteria mean? Why didn't they hold him for the 5 days? Also who was caring for your dog. Talk to a lawyer. Lots of questions need to be answered.
