🐾 Hopefully they will still be close by, laying low somewhere. I always post this in the hope it can help. Cats are often found in the vicinity from where they are missing - usually within a few houses, in the apartment block or within a few streets 🤞🏼(but sometimes farther out too) I have put together some detailed search tips (linked on my Facebook page as they are a bit long for the comments) You might be doing many of these already, but I wanted to share them just in case they can help. They include how to check your details are up to date on the microchip database (in NSW) and how to update them if required. Or some people simply just prank you and hang up once you answered. Importantly - Please be aware there are scammers around that post in comments on posts about lost pets . Or sometimes they send you text/ sms messages - or tell you to message them For example - if you post that your pet is missing/lost , some people might try and scam you in the following ways: -they might say something like use this pet service they found my dog or cat in two hours. It was a miracle or something like that. - or they tell might you to text a number for assistance to find your pet. -by saying they have “information” about your lost pet or can “help” you find it , by clicking a link or instagram or Facebook page that helped them - Some of them even go so far as to send you text messages of other pets (in awful condition), saying it is yours. - Some claim that they have access to your pets air tag or tracking device or say they are a “tracking service” that has helped them They might approach you in post comments, FB messenger or even via text/SMS if your number is available. They often ask for payment in US dollars or bitcoin/ cryptocurrency. Often their social media says something like PAID SERVICE ONLY. **Don’t be tricked by them.** These scammers try to take advantage of desperate pet owners- what they want is your money, they are not going to help you.
