Sam Schantz it is most likely a scammer that reached out to you. Please do not send them any money. Ask them for proof and pictures of your cat. Also the Humane Society doesn't cover the Hackensack area. It is the Bergen County Animal Shelter. Unfortunately scammers are reaching out to owners who are desperate to find their lost pets.

The humane society contacted me about 10:30 this morning told me that she was apparently hit by a car somebody brought her into a vet which they won't tell me where she is they asked me for my credit card information over the phone I don't have the money for the operation they asked me for at least a $500 deposit which I could not do today I told the man to please hang on a moment to see what I could do when I put him on hold the phone hung up so as of now I do not know where Mimi is but I believe she is at a vet somewhere I started a go fund me page immediately
