Message from Owner

We are so heartbroken about our little shadow being taken from our street. She was last seen Thursday evening and was inside. She likes to open the sliding door and can get out on her own. Friday am I Woke up and she wasn't in her normal spot on my balcony. I checked her AirTag (on her collar) and it was pinged at 6:17 am in Irvine by Great park on Ridge Valley rd. We kept an eye on it all morning ( we both had to work) and around 2 Pm my boyfriend was able to drive out to the area. 35 minutes away (20 miles) He found Shadow's AirTag (no collar) on the side of the road outside the Toll Brothers new construction site. It's all construction but we've done our best to flyer that area as well as our own neighborhood. It's come to our attention (thank you internet) that alledgedly one of our neighbors works on that construction site where her AirTag was found. Understanding what that insinuates, we are trying to figure out the best way to navigate in order to find our little one and hope she's surviving where ever she was left. A message to the people in the world who aren't cat/animal lovers.. Taking the life of a beloved pet or relocating them because they bother you in some way is cruel. Animals are innocent. Our poor kitty is lost and alone in this heat. Please share this post so we can try to bring her .

OMG. this is beyond upsetting.. Have you confronted your neighbor because it is obvious by accident or on purpose, this is def how your cat got to that location.. Check OC Animal Care in Tustin daily for any new intakes and put flyers up all around that construction site.

So sorry you’re going through this 💔 Shadow sounds like such a sweet girl. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking this must be for you. I’m sharing this and hoping she is found safe very soon 🙏 Please don’t lose hope—someone out there might have seen her or is caring for her without knowing she’s missing. Keeping you and Shadow in my thoughts. 🖤

Call and visit your shelters and pounds. Someone could have picked your baby up. Also they can note that your kitty is missing and if she is turned in they will call you. It also doesn't hurt to call them often just in case.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Here are some tips that helped me find my little guy when he got out. My kitty got out in the middle of winter for 11 days. I put flyers out everywhere and some very nice friends of a friend of mine saw my flyers and said he was living under their outside stairs. Flyers work. Also I was told to go out at night when it's quiet and call your kitty calmly. They are scared when outside even if it's your voice they hear so shouting or calling loudly isn't recommended. Also using a flashlight while looking in garages and bushes helps. Cats eyes glow when a light beams on them. Shaking treat bags can help too. Don't do a litterbox that can attract dangerous animals that could hurt Kitty. You can do a piece of dirty laundry of yours that they can be attached too. One more thing also is to get a humane trap from a local shelter and put the smelliest food inside. Believe it or not KFC chicken has helped attract cats more than any food lol. Also cameras can help also to see if your baby comes around when you're not home. I wish you the best of luck and hope. 💜💜💜💜🍀

Ask your local mailman if they've seen your kitty or if they can keep an eye out.

Check whatever shelter services Irvine BUT here’s a thought. .. the neighbor may be upset and just took the AirTag off your kitties collar and threw it out in Irvine to throw you off. In your own neighborhood go out very late at night with a flashlight and look under bushes you may be able to pick up the reflection of her eyes in the light. Put some of your dirty clothes outside do she can pick up the scent to find her way back home. Ask neighbors to check garages dnd sheds in case she got stuck inside. Check shelters daily. I think HB animals are taken to Orange County Animal Cate in Tustin. If she’s in your neighborhood she’s prob not to far from home 4-6 houses. Praying you get your kitty home safe.

TIPS TO HELP FIND LOST PET:✅Place his/her bedding, your shoes, a piece of your unwashed clothing (such as a sweatshirt, blanket, pillowcases) and food/water outside *if there is coyotes in the area bring the food in at night*.🚫Do not put litter box outside. Putting the litter box outside can attract predators and other cats which might keep your cat from returning home🚫*Putting out the other items listed above, are scents only your cat will recognize* ‼️ They might be nearby and can’t figure out how to get inside ***IF you have a garage or door/sliding door that can be left open*** Leave the garage/ or door cracked for them and place the shoes, bedding, jand unwashed clothing in the garage‼️ ✅Walk around the area calling them calmly early morning and late evening when it’s quiet & shake a bag of treats or a squeaky toy, something they would recognize. ✅If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and make sure your contact info is up to date. ✅Hang flyers (use a bright color board or paper) with picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home. ✅Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. ✅Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing. ✅File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters ✅Check shelters in person, daily if possible. Ask to see the animals in isolation too. ✅Check shelter websites daily (as it is updated hourly) ✅Check shelter found reports for found postings but not at the shelter. ✅Take a flyer to the shelters. ✅File online with petharbor, pawboost ✅Post on area lost and found pet and community Facebook pages, area shelter Facebook pages, newspapers, nextdoor and Craigslist under "pets" and "Lost and Found". Cats usually are close to home. Hang clothes with your scent out. Ask your neighbors if they would look in their yard or garage or storage sheds to see if he is there or check their Ring camera to see if he was spotted on camera. Make sure you post fliers with your contact information on it so if he is spotted they can call you and tell his location. Keep an access point open for him to slip back in your home. Look in bushes or hiding spots around your home as if he is scared he will make himself safe by finding a hiding spot. Sometimes the best time to find your cat is when the noise level is low - after hours - or early morning hours. Take a flashlight 🔦 and shine and look for the eyes 👀 under cars up trees in bushes. Good luck!n the noise level is low - after hours - or early morning hours. Take a flashlight 🔦 and shine and look for the eyes 👀 under cars up trees in bushes. Good luck!
