Sam is Missing in Asheville, NC

14 yo DLH ginger tabby male cat. No front claws, but still has some teeth. Green eyes, freckled lips. End of his tail is striped with white. Very friendly to humans, not friendly to other cats. Microchipped, but no collar (because he loses them). He's got some arthritis, but moves amazingly well for an old guy.

Message from Owner

Sam likes to wander at night but is usually back at our home by sunrise for his breakfast. He did not return home Monday AM (July 27th) so we're hoping he wandered farther than usual and couldn't figure his way back home. He is friendly to humans and likes their attention so often walks up to strangers for a head/chin scratch and has no problem settling in to a strangers home and has been known to show up at the door of a neighborhood home looking to come inside. (I guess he never got the message about "stranger danger".) He looks bigger than he is because of the floof. (He's about 10 lbs.) He is NOT friendly to other cats and will fight with them despite having no front claws and only a few canine teeth left. He will tolerate dogs if they tolerate him. If you see him, please alert us.
