10/10/26 - We are following up on two leads about a dog possibly being exchanged between persons at a gas station. That story may actually be true. Fingers crossed. This is an update on Murphy's kidnapping. It's 4 days now since he has had any of his seizure medications so we not sure what might happen there. One more thing on possible identification. He is rust colored with a good bit of grey mixed in. On his tail feathering there is a section maybe almost 1/2 inch or so wide where the full length of the hairs are solid grey. We know he was taken in Asheville by two women from Chattanooga TN at about 1:00 am Monday morning 10/6/26. We have the names (and maybe an address) for the two women. There have been a few folks who, through good investigation have determined who they are. If you are one of those folks please don't post those names here. We're not sure about legal issues and we will be working with the DS's Department making sure these two face the consequences of their actions. They finally have been contacted and gave a story which we really don't believe (we think they have Murphy somewhere in Chattanooga) but which we think we need to tell in case it might be true. They say: they took Murphy and were heading back to Chattanooga and decided that Murphy was not healthy and may have been abused and they did not want to keep him (which is beyond ridiculous). So they stopped at a gas station somewhere and gave Murphy to a couple passing by. When they were asked about all this they gave answers which provided no information at all. - "Where did you stop?" "Don't remember" - "Did you keep your gas receipt?" "We paid cash" - "Your phone GPS should show where you stopped". "We weren't using GPS".(Though we know they got lost bringing the brother to the rehab center in Asheville because he has admitted that; so they probably were using GPS). We don't really believe this story but we have to consider it. Needle in a haystack trying to find Murphy if true. But if anyone knows anything about an Irish Doodle being handed off at a gas station somewhere between Asheville and Chattanooga please let us know. Last part of this update. We have had HUGE numbers of folks, both in the Asheville and Chattanooga areas trying to help by passing info on possible leads in this situation and we want to say HOW VERY GRATEFUL we are for all your support and, hopefully, we will get Murphy back eventually. Emotionally it's like we've had a child kidnapped.
