LOST DOG Losing a pet can be a stressful and confusing time so we've outlined some proven tips and tricks below. We want to help. 1. Don't wait! Don't assume he/she has been stolen! Most lost dogs are able to be recovered within a mile of home inside the first 24 hours 2. Spread the word! File a report with Petco Love Lost! Their database uses facial recognition technology to help reunite found pets with their owners. You can share the Lost Pet profile to your local social media pages. Petco Love Lost also gives you the ability to make flyers to post! Need help using the site? 3. Talk to your neighbors! They may have seen the direction your pet headed in or they may have picked them up. 4. Make sure your information is up to date! If your pet is microchipped or has any form of identification, make sure your contact information is up to date so someone can reach you if they locate your pet. Check online to find the company that made your chip and update your information. 5. Keep checking online! * Pawboost * Facebook group Tucson Lost and Found Animals * Nextdoor

If you haven't already Immediately alert the chip company and make sure your info is UTD. File a lost report with local shelters. Go there in person on a regular basis. Post on Next Door and PawBoost. Ignore the pay prompts for PawBoost. Download Ring app and ask neighbors to check their footage. Let the postman know, as they know most of the people on their routes. You don’t have to have a Ring doorbell. Put clothes, towels, bedding that smells like you on your porch. Post on as many Lost and Found sites on FB as possible. Do not duplicate posts on the pages as this loses the thread. Dogs usually head north, for some reason, so look in that direction. But obviously check everywhere. Put up clear, simple and brightly colored signs all around the area. Put a sign in your yard with a picture and your phone number. Walk the neighborhood and put flyers on everyone's door. Immediately put out your dog's bed, and some of YOUR dirty clothes (dirty socks are nice and stinky)/blankets (dry in dryer first to enhance smell). Contact all local animal shelters, vets and groomers in your area. Walk don't drive around looking for your baby. The car may muffle your voice

Make an online report with Lost.petcolove.org which posts to the PACC website using facial recognition. Make an online report with the Humane Society. Check on the PACC website under dogs that have been found. Go to PACC in person every day to check.

Put up flyers in a very large area around where she was last seen. Make a scent trail by putting her bed and some of your old clothes and shoes outside.
