Maria LaPan I'm so sorry Maria it's devastating. I did share it and that's the best you can do besides the advice above. You can also contact local animal shelters and rescues in the area in case the kitty is picked up.

Sue Kyle thank you it happened at a rest stop … my niece and her family that were traveling and spork got out 😭We are not locals …looked for hours. No luck I put in Messages to the local places as well, heartbroken.

Putting a litter box outside is generally not recommended. While the scent might attract your cat, it is more likely to draw in predators or territorial neighborhood cats that could scare your lost pet away. Instead, try these safer alternatives: • Place familiar scents outside: Put out unwashed bedding or a piece of your worn clothing. • Use strong-smelling food: Set out wet food or sardines in a secure trap or near your door. • Search at night: Use a flashlight to look for eye-shine when things are quiet and they feel safer emerging.

Oh no! I’ll keep an eye 👀 out for your pet. In the meantime, check with local shelters in our area and put up posters where your pet was last seen. Don’t forget to file a missing animal report with ( 5,seven,1 )-4,eight,9-7,zero,0,four ) they specialize in finding lost or stolen pets. They found mine in less than two days after I texted them! Give them a try; hopefully, they can help you get yours back. The sooner, the better. By the grace of God, your pet will be found!

Which rest stop in Cumberland? Looks like maybe 49? Put her litter box out or some of her litter. Go out with a flashlight calling her name and checking bushes, trees, under cars at night and early morning hours. Hang or place some family bedding or clothing out so that the breeze/wind can carry the scent and hopefully lead her back. Check the area, especially all the businesses for crawlspaces, storage buildings, etc in case she’s hiding, sought a cool place, or trapped and cannot get out. Check with Animal Control often in person in case someone turns her in. Take them a pic to post. Post fliers and on Next Door App also. Good luck.
