Can you take it to a vet to get it checked for a microchip?

Thank you for helping this beautiful kitty. Here are some tips to help find the owner: - If there’s a Neighborhood Facebook page, and/or a Community Facebook page where this kitty was found, post on those sites as soon as possible to reach the people who live nearby, in hopes that the kitty’s family is somewhere in that area. - Take him to be scanned for a microchip. Any veterinarian will do it for free, and may help to track down the owner. - Put up FOUND CAT flyers around the neighborhood or area where kitty was found with his picture and your contact info. This increases awareness for those who don’t use social media, particularly the elderly, who may be at a loss as to how to find their missing pet. Email a copy of your FOUND CAT flyer to Animal Control to hang in their lobby in case the owner goes there in search of their missing pet. - If someone does come forward claiming to be the owner, please get absolute proof of ownership, as some people will claim to own pets that are not actually theirs, sometimes for nefarious purposes, and innocent pets could end up as Bait in dog fighting rings. Thank you again for helping this baby! Praying the owner will be found real soon!
