He lost his big brother due to illness 2 weeks ago. I hope he’s not out there looking for him. Skittish/scared around strangers.

Chris Rasmussen if he goes outside every day he's used to being out there and won't be scared outside like an indoor only kitty. If he's not fixed he definitely can roam further. Tell neighbors and hang flyers..🙏

Chris Rasmussen there’s a lot of good advice here. Definitely go out at night with a flashlight softly calling his name. Maybe shaking a bag of treats. Don’t give up hope. 🙏🏼

Mary Ellen McConnell They list their animals on Petfinder I believe. I haven't called because of this.

Laura Cummins Thanks! He loved being outside every day, and for 8+ years he's always kept close by. We are perplexed.

Try borrowing a HUMANE TRAP from the humane society, animal care & control or another rescue. You can also buy one on Amazon for about $70 if they aren't available. Put in some smelly food like tuna or wet food and they won't be able to resist. Cats typically don't stray too far and keep close by, but might be too scared to come out of hiding unless it's for food. My cat Pickles ran away for a week and this was the only thing that worked to catch him. He was still close by but refused to come out when we called. Recently my cat Nugget escaped and I was terrified since he used to be a stray cat in a rural area, and had never been in a city before. He was gone for 3 days and we finally found him hiding in our neighbor's backyard just 2 houses over. Make sure you TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS to be on the lookout!!! And hang up lots of FLYERS in the immediate area. I credit both of those things with helping to get Nugget back because I was talking to my neighbors in their back yard when we suddenly heard Nugget yowling from the bushes. Another thing I've heard is to try and talk in a normal conversational tone instead of yelling. Your cat might be more likely to respond/recognize your voice if it's in a calm tone they're used to hearing. That's exactly what happened with Nugget. I had been yelling his name for days and then suddenly I was just casually talking to neighbors and he meowed! Don't lose hope, I know you'll get your kitty back soon 💕

Post flyers all around the streets where lost with picture and your contact information Place yummy food and water on your porch along with something you have worn and check often. Cats usually stay close to home and try and find a safe warm place to hide go on nextdoor.com and ask for help finding your cat, ask people to check yard, under bushes and porches and in garages if anyone has security camers, ask them to check those for sightings do look on FB L&F sites, FB PawBoost, Craig's list L&F , nextdoor.com and all other neighborhood L&F sites. post your missing cat's information on these sites as well do not give up! Keep looking and sit outside on your porch and call for your cat like you may already do do call Animal Friends and Humane Animal Rescue Pittsburgh, along with shelter/rescue near you each day and see if anyone may have found your cat and brought your cat in I hope you find your cat safe, soon. Do check outside of your home as often as you can re-look all over inside the house, some can really hide well, for example in a closet where the door wasopen and now it is closed or in the bat do not give up!
