Leave out some dirty clothes of yours, too. Something they can pick up your scent from, like a sweaty shirt.

Put bedding outside as a scent. Have neighbors check cellars sheds garages and vehicles. They get trapped. Look under porches and sheds etc. Have a Heart trap with tuna. Cover trap with blanket and watch trap. Look at night often with flashlight. Check attics drawers and in trees 🌲. Culverts. Flyers everywhere. Check town authorities and vets. Look at lost and found pet sites shelters in case brought in. Craigslist too. Get kids you know to help look. Check behind walls and insulation. Abandoned buildings. Leave the door open for cat or window.

If you do manage to get him back, and you take him with you on your move, you will need to keep him inside for at least a couple of weeks so he knows that's his new place. If you dont do that he will certainly wander off again and not know how to get back to you. And, the unfamiliar surroundings will be very dangerous for him. Im not trying to discourage you at all from taking him with you. I hope that you do. Just some advise for the safest transition. Best of luck. Hope you find him 🙏
