Message from Owner

Has anyone seen me? My name is Malibu. I love to cuddle my brothers, sisters, and especially my mom so I know they’re missing me. My coat is super soft. I have piercing green/yellow eyes. I have little scars/scabs on my ears and have a small growth towards the base of my tail. I’m soft spoken. I’m very cautious of new people. But I love my wet food so if you offered I might come up. I’ve been missing since the early morning of 8-28-25 in the area of US Hwy 441 and NW 177th Pl in the Citra/Red area, 32113 zip code. I’m about to be 12 in September but I still keep up with my younger siblings. Please help me find my way ❤️‍🩹

Jazmin Rojas, the best time to search is at dusk -- cats are crepuscular and that's when Malibu would be most likely to respond to your calls. Also make sure neighbors know he's lost in case he's hidden in a shed or garage and become trapped. Hang in there and let us know how your search progresses.

Jamie Lynn even just the litter itself? I’m not talking about actual pee and poop. I have a sifting cat litter box.

Jazmin Rojas please don't put kitty litter cause it could attract predators (it is a food source for coyotes), which you don't want them around. That will deter her from getting home safe. Just put multiple items with your scent on it anywhere around outside that you can to help her pick up your scent. The wind can carry it and they can smell it quite far away.

Jamie Lynn thank you. Our nights have been restless as we are constantly looking for her. I’m going toter some used cat litter around and put some in a metal tin under our porch. She has food, bed, and water in our greenhouse. I have a pair of shoes outside that she frequently liked to chew on/rub against.

Diana Ellis thank you. Yeah every night we go looking for her and different times too. Consistently around 12-1am as they know that’s normally time to come in. But I’ll get up constantly during the night to check outside and call her. I’m still holding onto hope that she’ll come home.

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and monitor it in the morning🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping. That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor it early in the morning. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️

My indoor only male black cat got out once. We put out all the scents. Old blankets, his scratch post, his empty dirty litter box, vacuum dust etc. My nextdoor neighbor would see him trying to return during the day while we were at work. Then get scared and run off into nearby woods. I started setting my alarm for 3am while it was quiet and go out calling him. Finally after 5 days I heard him crying in very thick bushes Nextdoor to our house. I saw his eyes with my flashlight. I had to literally crawl to get him. He was like afraid to move. I finally got him . They usually don’t travel far. They will hunker down close by.

Erin F Kolodziey-McNally That's really Thoughtful of you to say that. I have to say, I really admire the way you speak about pets. It shows such a genuine love for animals and a kind heart too. That kind of warmth is rare, and it honestly makes me want to connect with you more, not just as fellow pet owners but as friends too if that's fine by you. I actually tried sending a request earlier but it didn’t go through. Maybe you could try adding me from your side instead? Please excuse my approach, I just felt it would be nice to stay connected 🙏.
