Suzy Creamcheese So true, cats are nocturnal. ♥

Melissa Sperka also would like to add - a scared cat isn't going to come out in the daytime. They're more likely to emerge from a hiding spot in the middle of the night.

Melissa Sperka litterboxes can attract predators 😞 Put out his bedding and some of your dirty clothes instead. Good luck ❤️

Suzy Creamcheese Thank you, Toby is chipped and we've already done all of the things you recommended. We appreciate your help! Edited to say and neutered. He's been strictly an indoor cat we've never let our cats roam. No sign of him this morning, we have 2 traps set, litterbox. toys, food all the things hoping it will lead him back. Many thanks!

Jordan Sperka your vet should be able to tell you if he's microchipped. If he is, you need to go on the chip company's website and register the chip, and then report him as missing. If he's not home by tomorrow, then put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. Give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter in the area in case he turns up. In the meantime, ask your neighbors to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Look up in trees in case he was chased. Walk the neighborhood in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Call him in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if he likes that kind of stuff. He's probably hunkered down and hiding nearby, but he may not answer you when you call. That's just instinctual, as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators. Put his beds/ blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. If it turns out that he's not microchipped, get him microchipped as soon as he comes home and be sure to register the chip online. Good luck ❤️

Suzy Creamcheese Owner here. Yes, he's neutered and I believe microchipped as well. He is an indoor only cat and has never been outside of the house like this until today, so hoping he's just nearby.

Is he neutered? Microchipped? Indoor only, or indoor/outdoor?
