🕊️ OUR BELOVED COCKATIEL IS MISSING 🕊️ 💔 Please help us find our little friend. This morning, around 9:00 AM, our cockatiel flew out of our home in our apmt complex. He became frightened and flew very high into the sky. We watched him fly over several buildings and neighboring complexes, and eventually we lost sight of him. He is not just a pet to us — he is our closest little friend and a beloved part of our family. We all miss him terribly, and the children are especially heartbroken and keep hoping that he will come home. 💔 🙏 If you see a cockatiel anywhere in our neighborhood or nearby, please contact us. Even if you are not completely sure it is him, please reach out. Your message could be what helps us bring our little friend home. 📍 Last seen: Near our apmt complex 📅 Lost: This morning ⏰ Time: Around 9:00 AM 📞 Text: Please share this post with your neighbors and local groups. The more people who see it, the better chance we have of finding him. ❤️ We miss him so much and are waiting for him to come home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help.

Caged birds do not normally know how to "land" once they fly so their often stuck in trees, side of trees - our sweet baby was holding on to the neighbors stucco! Walk around, not only looking up but down around bushes, etc. Call to it, whistle, whatever your baby is used to hearing! And then be quiet and listen!! We live in the area and will walk around calling for it. I hope they get home!

Your parrot is vulnerable outdoors and likely hasn’t flown far. Here’s clear, step-by-step advice to maximize recovery chances: • Search persistently on foot: Stay out as long as needed, covering your neighborhood thoroughly. Birds will go quiet at dark, but will stay put as their eyesight is terrible in the dark. You must take advantage of daylight hours. • Use sounds to locate: Play familiar calls or YouTube videos of sharp, distinctive flock calls loudly via Bluetooth speaker or phone. Listen for responses. if within earshot, your bird will very likely respond. This can often be a cheat code for finding lost birds as they are easier to locate by sound opposed to sight. • Watch for signs: Look for agitated crows, magpies, or other birds; this may indicate your parrot is nearby. • Spread the word: Notify neighbors door-to-door. Create and put up eye-catching posters everywhere (include photo, description, contact info). Post in local Facebook groups and community apps. Posters are crucial. Most escapes end up stuck up in a tree, unable to descend due to lack of flight experience. • If spotted: Never take your eyes off your bird. Stay patient and persistent; it will come down with time and coaxing (use food, toys, or calls). • Be diligent: A vast majority of domesticated escapees don’t survive without help. Starvation, freezing, or predators are common. Your efforts are their lifeline. Play this one. It’s loud, distinct, and on loop. https://youtu.be/pYOOyOkFg7Y

TO KESHA'S OWNER: Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19TcX1MpRa/ Here are some ideas to assist in your search. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, these guys tend to stay close to home for the first few days. Your bird will likely be silent as well, from fear- This makes them stop calling out even if you are right next to him or her. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. These Birds can be good flyers, make sure you do a 35 mile radius of social posting in l n f pet groups. Your bird will be most active out searching for food at first light [dawn] and dusk so you need to be outside pre-dawn, NOTE: they roost in place overnight as they do not see in the dark *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring *Be wary of scammers & pet trackers. Any group, individual or so called “pet tracking/finder” service that tries to charge you to “locate” your missing pet is a scam & should be avoided. No contact should be made, no codes or financial information revealed or offered to them. 💜💚 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 & 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗔 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗘𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗣𝗧 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝟯-𝟱 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦!!
