I am so sorry about everything that’s going on. Please do the following ASAP wherever she was lost. If you know who owns the house that she ran to, maybe ask them if they can set a humane trap and do the following things with articles of clothing that smell like you. If you ask their permission and they are willing to help that’s your best way to get her home… Sit something out with your scent (dirty laundry or bedding) by the area it escaped from and check frequently. There are controversies on the litter box being placed outside. Most professionals say don’t set the litter box outside, as it draws in stray and ferals in that neighborhood because they are territorial and if your cat comes out they could chase your cat away. They do not like new cats in their territory. If possible, leave a window/door open, or crack the garage door (especially overnight) to allow it to come in. Set out strong smelling wet cat food (sardines in water work great) but be careful doing this overnight, as it may attract other animals…you’ll need to check frequently for your pet’s presence. Post neon posters of your cat’s picture and your phone number to telephone poles at intersections/locations of where he was lost. Sardines in water is a great choice of food to leave out, as the smell of sardines is pungent and can be smelled from a far distance. Cats love them. Additionally, if your cat is microchipped, call the microchip company (and your vet) and notify both of them that your cat is lost and could be stolen. Ask them to notify you if their microchip is scanned. Best time to look would be from dusk to dawn, the cat is going to be scared. If it’s an indoor only cat, they are usually very close or a few houses away…they're going to wait until it's quiet to move about, they might not even meow, so take a flashlight out to look for glowing eyes and use a CALM VOICE (they will pick up tension/ panic in your voice). Whatever you do at home to get them to come to you, do that outside. Check under sheds, decks, bushes, rooftops and trees…ask neighbors to check their security cameras, sheds, garages, and/or ask for permission to check their property. Indoor cats will most likely be on your property or two houses away. If you have other pets, a dog may be able to sniff out the cat…and if you have another cat, put that cat in the carrier then take it outside and sit the carrier on a step/porch while you walk around your property. Rent or buy a humane trap, ASAP! This is the best chance at retrieving your cat. Cover the top of the trap with a tarp or blanket. The ONLY food you leave out should be in that trap, behind the trip plate, towards the very back. During severe or harsh weather trap should be checked every 30 minutes . Do not leave the trap set for long periods of time unattended, especially overnight. In general, check the trap every 1-2 hours. The humane society should be able to help with this.

I'm so sorry you lost your baby. Make flyers and put them up in the area she went missing. Go door to door and hand them out with your contact info. I hope you find her soon!😥💔

🚨Please follow these tips immediately suggested by professionals. They have been successful for others. LOST CAT TIPS Your Missing Cat will try to re-enter the home when the neighborhood is quiet. If it all possible, leave the door ajar that the kitty escaped from and secure other companion animals to a separate room of the home. He/she will try to re-enter when the neighborhood is quiet in the evening and overnight hours. Make sure you physically check underneath and in the engine compartment of your vehicles prior to starting in the morning. Cats typically don't go very far, and are hiding, so you'll have to search for them. Put clothing/bedding that smell like him/her and his/her family outside the home immediately. Along with some smelly food such as tuna,. sardines,. mackerel fish in front of camera if you have one. The usually will follow the scent home. If you have a garage, leave the door open enough for him/her to get in. If you live in a mobile home community look under yours and your neighbor's homes. Check around your home: bushes, up in trees, deck, porch etc. If their head fits their body will too! Door-knock neighbors and ask them to check outbuildings, sheds, garages and ring cam footage. Use a flashlight to look under cars, bushes and up in trees for the glow of the kitties eyes. Go out periodically through out the night shaking his/her treats or opening a can of wet food and call to him/her. Listen for any responses and watch for movement and/or eyes peering out. Renting/borrowing/buying a live trap and setting within the first 24 hours your cat has been missing is a good idea. Live traps need to be monitored frequently. Be prepared to release wildlife. You can purchase a live trap at tractor supply store. Use sardines, mackerel fish or tuna in the trap, they will not go in a trap for cat food. The only food they should have access to is what's in the trap or they will not go in. Post on Nextdoor app and any other neighborhood groups on Facebook. Ask neighbors to check security camera footage for sightings of him and to call you ASAP. Post on For the Love of Louie *Michigan Lost Pet Lookers* Also post on pawboost online for lost and found pets. Posting neon posters in your neighborhood is very important to the recovery of your lost pet. Also give a flyer to the mailman. You can use neon poster board from the dollar store. Write missing cat, a description of your cat and phone number with a marker.
