If your kitty is missing, they often don’t go far. Leave out warm/cold water, post flyers & put out food in a clear storage bin on its side. Just after dark/bef dawn go a little ways from where they were lost w/a flashlight. Stand still, call them softly, look under/around bushes/decks/sheds for eye shine & movement - shake a treat bag. If cold at night, put a heating pad in a box/crate on low. Put out/hang items that smell like you/them so the scent carries. Call into storm drains as sound echoes. Look in sheds & crawlspaces, especially if you/neighbor had work done recently or one was left open. Ask neighbors if You Can Help check their shed/crawl space/deck. Be Active in your search; Don’t just hope they’ll find their own way back. Go out at different times daily to call and look-best time is dusk to dawn. Reposition security cams to see if you spot them after dark. Ask neighbors to check their footage. Try a humane trap, available on Amazon. Easy to use, but must be checked every hour day or night if set open bc trapped animals are vulnerable. Send pic & info to local vets, rescues & animal control. If microchipped, check info is up-to-date & mark them as lost/missing. Look for lost/found pet pgs or county animal control pgs to post on: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067051195687 | facebook.com/lostandfoundpetsinchesterfieldandRVA | facebook.com/groups/660698751239235/ Here are sites w/info: Missing Animal Rescue Network (MARN) youtu.be/g2eCoC63B91 petfbi.org/ www.alleycat.org www.neighborhoodcats.org alleycatadvocates.org./ Nextdoor.com Pawboost.com & Ring Neighbors (no ring camera needed). Keep updating your post every 1-2 days so it shows back up in the feed. Note: leaving out litter/food in multiple places could be confusing & attract other cats/animals. Don’t give up. They could still be in the area and in survival mode. Neighbors, security camera footage and or Wildlife cameras if you can get any might be helpful in spotting him. Best of luck- I hope they’re home safe soon.

If your kitty is missing, they often don't go far. Leave out warm/cold water and food in a clear storage bin turned on its side, post fliers (try wired ground signs). Check at dawn & dusk or after dark with a flashlight. Quietly look under bushes/decks/cars for eyeshine & movement, call them softly and listen -have treats ready. Check the area from where they were lost & put out/hang unwashed items that smell like you/them -scent carries. Call into the storm drains -sound echoes. Consider sprinkling litter around the perimeter of your yard. Look in sheds & crawl spaces, especially if you or a neighbor has had work done recently or one has been left open. You could try repositioning security cameras if you have any to see if you spot them after dark. You could also try a humane trap, available on Amazon. Not hard to use - just don’t leave it open & set for hours without checking it, or overnight if not being watched. Leave a heating pad on low in a crate/box if cold at night. Post fliers, send pic & info to local vets & animal control, &, if microchipped, make sure info is up to date & they are marked as lost/missing. Look for sites on Facebook or elsewhere to post – county animal control groups often have pages where you can post. ( Lost & Found Pets - Richmond, VA , Lost or Found Pets in Chesterfield, Richmond and all over Virginia , Lost & Found Pets - Richmond, VA ) There's lots of info online. Here’s a video for lost cats: youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I - Other orgs offer good information for lost, stray or feral cats too. (petfbi.org/, www.alleycat.org/, www.neighborhoodcats.org/, alleycatadvocates.org/) Other places to post: Nextdoor.com, Pawboost.com & Ring Neighbors if you have it. Note that leaving out litter &/or food in multiple places could be both confusing & attract other cats/animals, so do as you feel appropriate. Praying they stay safe & are home soon.

Please try these tips they have definitely helped others. Watch a tip video on youtube about how to find your lost cat, there are several. Post and check on Nextdoor for sightings. Also just heard about this site offering great useful tips so definitely check it out “lostcatfinder.com” Also, your kitty is probably not far away so the sooner the better, put out something of yours or the cats out for scent, putting out the litter box is not recommended as it attracts unwanted critters that could possibly scare your cat off again, use your judgement . Look 👀 I with flashlight early a.m. or late at night, calling and shaking food. That part is so important because those are the quiet hours and your cat would be more prone to coming out of hiding. put up flyers too. If you get any sightings use a trap, sometimes you can borrow from animal control or Amazon has them. I have recently heard some take smelly, oily fish (juice only) (sardines, tuna) and make a “smelly trail” around their house to help with scent. Dont give up too soon , i had one gone for weeks and as i was about to give up, my last night to call her, she was in our yard. Also just heard someone found theirs after 70 days so…… 🙏🏻🙏🏻

He is most likely close by. Ask neighbors to check sheds, crawl spaces, garages, bushes, under decks, and anywhere else he could be trapped or hiding. Put up flyers, post on NextDoor, and notify and visit animal control. Best of luck!
