Message from Owner

The first time we let her out of our grge through the pet door we installed, she never came back. We had her with our other "barn cat" (a black male) in a large wire kennel (what we brought them from California in) for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks out of the cage but inside the grge without opening the grge door or man-door. Meanwhile, we had a pet door installed in the wall of the grge. Since we have been adding to the hse and remodeling, I think she got confused about which hse was ours. (ie - we took out the gravel from the RV pking and cemented it in; added a large, long carport; a large stick-built storage shed; and fenced the front yard with block & rod iron fence & gate; and added a rod iron remote-control gate that goes across the driveway & RV driveway. We posted pictures of her with contact info; drove around the entire neighborhood and asked neighbors; looked through websites & no luck. We still haven't given up hope!

Here are some tips that may be helpful in locating your lost Kitty Hero. Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats and or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well, they never go far they go into survival mode and hide in silence they will not always respond to This is the time they become most active and responsive. Place some dirty socks and pillowcases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food as likely to be killed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take weeks to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of his eyes. Survival mode last 5 to 14 days. Once their hunger gets to a maximum, they snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. Make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Most people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful.
