First put out a big bowl of water IMMEDIATELY. Then, did you try the kitty litter trick? Take some litter from their box and sprinkle outside leading to your door then call them constantly especially at dawn and dusk and when it's quiet. Kitty will follow its scent and your voice home. It's no doubt scared and hiding. You can also try a stinky can of sardines! Or if kitty is a cuddler, try putting an article of your clothing by your door. Ask your mail carrier to keep an eye out, too. Also check area garages, under car hoods, shelters, local rescue groups, Nextdoor and Pawboost for found kitties in and near your zip. Don’t give up. And post flyers around your neighborhood. Good luck! And please keep your kitty inside if you let it out!! Between coyotes, diseases, bad actors and cars, there are so many ways harm can come to them!!! Finally, if your kitty isn’t fixed, please spay/neuter!

Leave your clothes hanging outside! The scent can attract your pet back! Please put up posters around your area. You make print regular papers and put them in sheet protectors to make a poster. Then, post them around the neighborhood. Staple them to telephone poles, tape them to the glass entrances of stores, supermarkets, laundromats, whatever is nearby (get permission first), and whatever else will catch many eyes. State a money reward on your poster as well. Also share this post to other places such as Facebook, Nextdoor, Pawboost, Ring (neighbors), NYCACC Lost&Found, PetFBI, etc. Also check these platforms to see if you can find your pet listed in their "found" section. I hope you find your baby!

Helpful Hints: Post huge fluorescent colored paper signs all around! Post on Nextdoor.com, Pawboost and all Lost and Found Sites in other boroughs and suburbs. Check all vets offices, shelters and rescues throughout. Check Craigslist Lost and Found Pets. Rehoming/Selling Pets etc. sections ! Check all bushes, alley ways, especially in the morning and evening time. Walk around waving something scented of yours and also your pets so he/she will detect it while you call out their name. Try anchovies ! Tie your shirt or something scented of yours and your pets where your pet was last seen. Search teams and scent dogs can provide help also. If you know of another dog owner their dog can be used to detect the scent of your lost pet. It's worked many times! Hope this helps!
