I know this is not ideal, but if you can, leave your door open a little bit and put out your worn clothes. We did this last month and our cat came home in the middle of the night after missing for almost 3 days.

PLEASE READ. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. IF I HAD KNOWN THESE TIPS I WOULD HAVE MY FUR BABY BACK NOW! Go out looking for kitty. Start searching immediately. Don’t wait for him/her to come home on their own. Kitty is likely close by, may be scared and hiding. Take a can of tuna or smelly cat food with you or kitty’s favourite treats. Look under neighbours decks or steps but don’t give up. So many dangers out there such as coyotes, owls and not so nice humans. Kitty is counting on you. And...this is so IMPORTANT ....!!! If you don’t find kitty today, go out late tonight when it’s quiet and calm around midnight or later and sit on your front steps or back steps and talk out loud softly and say his/her name over and over like you are reading a story book. Be patient it may take some time and more than one night but if kitty is close s/he will hear your voice and come out of hiding. This has worked for me a couple of times. Also leave a window or garage door open so they can get back in when they come back. Good luck. Hope your fur baby makes it home soon. Don’t give up. If you haven’t already posted on YYC Pet Recovery as well another great sight like this one for lost and found animals if you feel comfortable with it contact neighbours kitty sometimes hide in peoples yards under deck stairs if they get scared if you’re not comfortable talking to neighbours make up some flyers with kitty‘s picture and contact information. Best to get out as often as you can calling Kitty and watching to see if Kitty is coming back home at different times of the day an early morning. Good luck kitty could come back at any time it’s difficult. I know I’ve had it happen to me.
