He is a Russian Blue Mix, he is mostly gray with white around his nose and mouth and under neck and chest, he also has white socks, high socks on the back legs and bright yellow eyes. He is the sweetest nicest boy, he has never bitten or scratched anyone ever!

Hello! Our beloved cat Maxx Bet has been an outside cat since we found him wandering in O'Neil national Forest. We don't feel its right to keep him locked inside, and he won't let us do so even if we wanted to. He's a great escape artist, and sits at the door day and night constantly meowing at us to let him out to play. Of course doing that comes with all the worries that one might have, and it scares us and sadness us to think of what could happen. At the end of the day, in our hearts we know he is happier outside. So with that being said, if all of you could help us keep track of him that would bring great ease to our minds and hearts knowing he is ok when sometimes it takes days for him to come back. Feel free to post to us whenever you have spotted Maxx, and feel free to say hello to him as well, he is the sweetest boy and we love him, we used to have a gps on his collar but somehow he lost his collar, we have attempted to catch him to put a new one but havent been able to, if you happen to have him, please let us know so we can put the collar back on him.

Have neighbors check garages and sheds. Have a tree out back? Check that too. Leave your garage door up a little so they can return home to a familiar place. Place a box outside with blankets or even the clothes you wore today so a cat can pick up the scent and make it home. If you are new to this area, have friends keep an eye out at your former home. And please: CHECK THE LOCAL SHELTERS DAILY I hope your kitty makes it back home safe very soon. Please make sure to get your cat chipped once they return, and PLEASE keep them indoors! PLEASE NEVER LOSE HOPE! LOOK UP! Cats are great climbers and looking for them on the ground only is limiting your search. Male wanderers tend to stay within a territory of about 150 acres, while females stay closer to home, roaming only about 40 acres. This means that your average male cat is likely to stay within 1500 feet of home, while your average female tends not to go much farther than 75 yards from your door. Be careful of the lost pet finders. Time is of the essence. Cats don’t go far from home. Don’t wait for social media to bring your cat home, you need to be proactive. Leave the door/window the kitty exited from open 24/7. If unable, then crack garage door open 24/7 enough to get in. Hang worn clothes and/or your pillow case in a tree or on top of shrubs to create a scent trail. Knock on neighbors doors ASAP with a picture asking them to keep an eye out. See if they can check Ring cameras for any sighting. Post signs with kitty’s picture as many as possible, include surrounding neighborhoods. Go out late at night with a flashlight, shaking a bag of food, calling kitty’s name, looking under shrubs for their shining eyes. Post on Ring, Nextdoor and check shelters. Don’t give up. 💕

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO CAT BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
