Please help me find Chunk. He is 8 years old, neutered, and never been outside so I'm sure he's scared to death. He is very sweet he loves people kids dogs and other cats. He is also chipped through the SPCA of Pinellas.

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and cover it with a towel (they feel more secure hidden) and monitor it.🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping. That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor it very frequently and early in the morning. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️ also get a big sign in the front yard so in case someone does have or sees this baby and does not see this post, they can contact the owner that way. Also get lots of signs posted in the neighborhood. Keep checking on your local county FB group pages. You can search the group by "cat" to see all the cat posts only💗

The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. They have to use their sense of smell to get home again. Put anything outside that smells like their territory. Put the pajamas you slept in outside because you probably sweated in them. Put out their food your stinky socks your smelly sneakers anything you can think of that the cat will recognize by smell. Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week or so sleeping in the bushes during the day and coming out at dusk and dawn. Those are good times to take a walk shaking the treat bag calling out but cats also tend to come out and walk around very late at night. Try to keep a door cracked if you can whether it's the garage or whatever or a window cracked so you can hear them if they call out for you. Put this on all of the neighborhood pages as well as lost and found pets sites. Knock on the neighbors doors and make sure they know you're looking for your cat. Good luck PS cats can smell up to one mile away from their own house. Absolutely no litterbox outside or food. It attracts predators is why. Never give up.

He is close!! Follow these suggestions: If he is an indoor cat and has gotten out, follow these suggestions: you can go out during the day looking, but you may not have a lot of luck. The best times to look are very early in the morning or very late at night. Take a flashlight and some treats and walk down your street and the streets on either side of you. Look under trees, bushes, cars, etc. If he just got out, he could be as close as your own yard or your neighbor's. If it's been a while, he could be up to 3 blocks away. You will have to be diligent and do this repeatedly. It's also suggested to put something out on your porch such as a dirty blanket, or some dirty clothes that have a heavy smell of you and your house. Do not put out the litter box! It will attract predators. Cats bury their waste for a reason. Crack your garage door if you have one. Set up a humane trap. You can get one at tractor supply. Youtube has a lot of videos on how to set them up. Check the every 2 - 3 hours. If it attracts your cat, it will also attract other animals. Don't give up. Post flyers.
