Dog Found This dog was found last night at approximately 2020 on the 295 merge lane coming off of cliffdale. It was a female, she appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries, I contacted Emergency Services but FPD said no one would be dispatched until tomorrow since animal services was closed, myself and a friend put her in a blanket and put her in my car as carefully as we could and took her to the Veterinarian in the photo. The veterinary team scanned for a chip but couldnt find one and due to the injuries told me they would humanely euthanasia her, her body will be held for 10 days. Sorry for your loss, she seemed aware that we were helping her and didnt seem in alot of pain in her final moments made sure she wasn't just left on the side of the road after she was hit. 🥺 She was transported to East Veterinarian hosp in Fayetteville on 1731 Convoy Street off 295

Robin Harrison I know. I don't understand it either. Even in my neighborhood some dogs keep getting loose over and over. It's like people don't give a damn.

My heart just dropped. 💔 Although, I'm so happy that you made this posting to hopefully find her owner and even her soul closure. I choked up looking at this image and her in this state; even more at the thought of the owners coming to terms with the news. It doesn't matter who you are, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I did something similar for a dog that had already passed on - on Red Tip and glensford. It was freezing cold for 3 days straight, and I had gone passed there the for an Amazon return at Kohls before in that exact spot and she was not there. I was sure she was still alive at how vibrant she still looked. When I first pulled over I even tried to call out to see if she respond. Her eyes hadn't glazed over either. I said, 'Lord, I can't leave her out here like this, what if it were my dog? It's freezing out here I have to do something." So we took a huge moving blanket that I kept in my trunk because prior to I had called the clinic and the clinic said if I could get her there they can scan her even though she was already gone. It was sooo cold out. The ground look like it was even Frosty cuz it was white. We took her to the emergency with her collar. Her collar didn't have anything hanging on it but her shots tag. They scanned her, found her owners. Animal services weren't going to do it fast enough. Her name was Violet. Big and beautiful. All I could think of was that if it was mine, I would hope someome who would do the same, so that I can get some closure as well. I know everyone's different and everyone thinks differently and I respect that. However, I feel that I would have left her some kind of dignity and cropped that picture before posting it. While I do hope that the owner gets closure and I know that these kind of people had very good intentions and heartfelt, I don't know that I would want to have anyone come back to a picture with their pups next to their body's waste (sheer signs of system shutdown). It's usually what happens when you see those traces of poop next to a dying or already gone dog. My momma woke up one morning to her pup half out of his bed in his poop as well. He was found in responsive. I only say this because those that know quite a bit about dogs in their passing know that when they're alive their muscles actively work to hold in urine to hold in their bowels. however, when they are either at or near a moment of death their nervous system that helps run to control their body shuts down and those muscles completely relax. so there's nothing in a way actively working in their body as it's shut down. When that happens is when the body starts to release the leftover waist in the bladder and bowels to naturally clear from the body. I could barely see my keyboard as I was trying to type this because I've been through it, and how hard this hit. 🫂 🙏🏽 😇 😩
