Message from Owner

Very friendly. Known to frequent neighbours yards. Hasn’t come home for two meals - which is very out of character. Never stays out overnight. Always home for nighttime cuddles with his 3 little humans.

It’s very important to immediately do the late night-early morning (midnight to 5am) walks around where the kitty was lost. Try shaking bikkie box, waving around your unwashed clothes (socks r great!), calling softly. Take strong torch to catch eyeshine & a secure means to carry cat home - even a pillowcase is good as cat will be skittish & may escape your arms. Shared with hope. 💕

The late night walk with a torch is how many have found their lost cats - please start doing this asap. And distributing flyers, doorknocking. Also check cctv in the area. And see if anyone has gone away in the surrounding area in case puss has been accidentally locked in their house or shed. This is a great local resource which has helped many ppl find their lost cat https://www.scaredycats.com.au/find-lost-cat/find-lost-cat-step-by-step-guide/

Immediately flag microchip as missing and ensure your details are updated Contact vets, pounds and shelters in your area Please don’t rely on Facebook to find your missing cat as not everyone in your area will view your post Search outside quietly and check drains, look in bushes, up trees, under decks, in sheds, and in crawl spaces within a close radius (3 to 5 houses away for indoor-only cats) with a torch as it reflects the eyes. Search during midnight - 4am when it is quieter and calm. Your cat feels safer to come out to you. Shake a treat bag or carry strong smelling food like tuna, and softly call your cat's name. Ask neighbors if YOU can check their garages, sheds, and under their houses etc as they will not search (at least not as thorough as you) and ask if they have CCTV or doorbell camera footage you can review. Put up bright posters in your neighborhood with a recent photo, your cat's name, description of where they were last seen, and your contact phone number. Share on local community boards, local lost and found groups Good luck 🐱

I’m sorry your cat is missing. 💔 The following suggestions may help you find your cat, they have worked for me in the past: Try approaching your neighbors. Put up posters. Leaflet neighborhood if possible at least 1-2 streets on either-side of yours, that’s how my missing cat was identified on a neighbor’s property. Go door knocking, at least 3-4 properties on either side of yours and across the road and street behind. Speak to those neighbours and personally deliver a leaflet of your missing cat to them. Your neighbours may pay more attention if you speak with them. Ask your neighbours if any CCTV footage may have been captured of your cat, this can be really helpful in tracking your cat’s movements. Contact local vets, pounds and shelters. Post on other Facebook Lost pet/cat sites for more exposure. Your cat will be close by, from personal experience, one of my missing cat’s was located at my next door neighbor’s house and another time several years ago, my cat was just one street away. If you haven't already done so, make sure to report your cat missing with the microchip company where their microchip is registered to, that's how my cat was found and prevented a stranger from changing ownership of her. The best advice I can offer is to go out every night and search for your missing cat after dark, as this is often when you’ll have the most success. Call their name late at night or in the early hours of the morning, when everything is quiet and your cat can hear you more easily. Try going out between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., and take a strong torch with you. If possible, go out twice during the night at different times. In many cases, lost cats are hiding very close-by, sometimes just next door or a few houses away. This method has worked for me before. I hope you’re reunited with your kitty soon ❤️🙏🏼
